  1. I’ve yet to see a picture of him euphoric/celebratory!
  2. I reckon Alex is after one that can be made into a drawing/logo. As good as that is, it’s not suitable. Not enough human interest.
  3. There was a photo thread by that recruitment agency where they had a competition. Bet you it was on that.
  4. ABC Pete, always be closing! Small hiatus in that big hedge removal, to allow me to physically recover. Trees are done, just clear up and grinding Monday and Tuesday next week. Easy small grinding job elsewhere to do today. Cushy finish to the week.
  5. Morning campers! Day 2 of a 3 of a leylandii hedge removal. Annoyingly the Schliesing has developed an overheating issue. So it’s the TW230 today, not ideal but not the end of the world either, as the “thick” end got done yesterday.
  6. 21 a cube? A transit holds 4 to 5 cube. So 80 to 100 quid a load? Better than a poke in the eye.
  7. I dunno, I can’t be certain of the numbers, but a mate back in the UK tells me the money he gets for the waste wood can pay for the days diesel. Mind you he does have a tractor, wood trailer and grab to transport it.
  8. It’s going to be a ballache to end all ballaches. When I imported the TW I needed an EORI number, an inspection from Defra or someone to ensure it didn’t have any diseases on it and something else to do with VAT. I got an expert to sort the importation for me. Don’t try and sneak it through, I got pulled out immediately and the paperwork scrutinised, they seemed surprised and disappointed that it was in order. As for the registration…good luck.
  9. I believe the waste wood market is changing. Some firms are paying for rubbish wood as chippable biomass.
  10. Weather set fair for the week, cool and dry. Money making weather!
  11. Are you saying it’s tarmac? (Which would be great btw)
  12. As an aside, Igor was in a bad state for a while, arthritis in his hind quarters and a shoulder problem that meant he started limping after 50 meters, it was pitiful to watch tbh. He was/is already on two types of medication, and seemed depressed by it all. Went to the vets in desperation and she suggested a bit of osteopothy. So I took him and she did half an hour of manipulation, while he looked at me rather bewildered. Anyway very quickly his shoulder problem disappeared. He can still only do 400metres or so before he tired out, but it’s enough for him to do his business and generally have a sniff. He’s in decline but now he’s functioning and seems content. Might be worth finding one in your area? Oh and morning all!
  13. A broader sweep of the trees (picture wise) might help.
  14. I’ll blow a load of brake cleaner or wd40, then the airline, if it doesn’t work properly after that, it gets relegated to less critical duties.
  15. Fixed eye krab spliced on.
  16. No expert, but that doesn’t look like a Grandiflora, which are the tree size ones. Looks like a Soulangenea (sp) which stays much smaller.
  17. I get a tug over here every few years, I get the impression they’re quite impressed with it’s Dead Sea scroll vibe! I say to them that I spend half my time in the UK half in France. They tell me I have to change it, I agree, then we go our separate ways.
  18. This is why I keep my paper license over here.
  19. Bit beyond me to do that tbh. We have a brilliant Hydraulic shop in the nearby town. Admittedly the pipe was €70, but it still beats having it sit in the corner of some tractor suppliers workshop for 3 weeks and a €600 bill (for work done by the apprentice)
  20. Small hose went on the grinder yesterday. It was deep in the machine (well one end was anyway) so hydraulic tank out, petrol tank out, lots of pipes disconnected. However, we got there, got a replacement pipe made up in town. Rebuilding today. A penny saved is a penny earned as they say.
  21. We await with bated breath. 🤞
  22. Big bloke, lots of steroids I imagine, might be a factor. Made a good career out of pro rassling.
  23. Easy grinding day today, weather still coolish and pleasant. Work coming in finally. Have a good one.
  24. Rec climbing is certainly a “thing” Perhaps try the FB groups. I’m sure you’ll find some contemporaries there (usually the younger ones) who will point you in the right direction or organise group climbs. Always best if there’s a couple of you for safety reasons.
