  1. Bank holiday yesterday so start of the working week today. A tooth fell out over the sink, then ran round like a roulette ball till disappearing down the overflow. Not a good start!
  2. I came in from the workshop for 15 odd minutes to watch the ceremony at the cenotaph.
  3. I’m not saying I don’t want to mark it or remember it or whatever. Nor do I want to get into a game of who had relatives in the war. What I’m saying is that it’s become a circus of ‘who’s not wearing a poppy?’ Corporate marketing nonsense and an American/North Korean style deification of the armed forces. Case in point watch Strictly Come Dancing tonight for some toe curling remembrance shite.
  4. Unpopular opinion. The whole things got a bit too much, too performative. Every year it gets more and more all encompassing. It has now become obligatory to be/do/show something. God forbid if you don’t join in.
  5. I had thought it more likely it’s because of builders get the VAT back and tax relief on 4 door 4 seat pickups that go straight to the wife as a family car.
  6. Sure, there’s nothing stopping you.
  7. A great scene, worthy of a rewatch. The Doll’s eye bit is when the hairs on the back of your neck start to rise.
  8. Glad you’ve brought it under control. Been out pricing this afternoon, got the first one, a half day, easy enough. Second two were an absolute waste of time, I won’t bother you with the details. Punctuated by an unscheduled crap in the woods. Luckily I carry bogroll in the truck. Unluckily it turned out to be one of these.
  9. I thought that had been the case for years. Certainly has been over here.
  10. So is this for the proper 4 door/4 seat pickup or the 2 mini seats in the back jobby as well?
  11. I saw in the newspaper this morning that the French government are introducing some kind of grant for the installation of specific high efficiency wood burners. Looks like a bit of a sea-change is afoot.
  12. I don’t think you need any tickets to legally do treework.
  13. Wordle 1,239 4/6 🟩⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟩⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟨🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  14. Agree up to a point, I mean I’ll never use it. But it may be handy for the SRT boys fiddle farting on 1 mètre reductions on big spready canopies. I’m very minimalist in regards what’s on my harness, others like to have stuff with them.
  15. Well of course it’s about the money! I predict Tyson losing, especially the longer it goes on. You cannot beat Father Time.
  16. Knowing him, he’ll be rifling through the skips behind a theatre this Christmas where there’s a Peter Pan pantomime. Bound to be a hook in there somewhere…
  17. Course he won’t! He would ruin his legacy if he loses. Tyson’s age is the worry, 58 is old (as a 60 year old I know) Power, stamina, speed are all down, doesn’t matter how much he trains, he can’t get those back. JP is powerful, he may lack proper boxing technique, but he’s fit, big and……young. What say you @Rich Rule?
  18. The first 201s were rubbish, so Reg did a vid crushing one with his truck. I had one and it was profoundly gutless. Heaven knows how or why Stihl released them (perhaps Husky’s new 540 release panicked them) A saw tuner called Snelling in the US brought them up to spec with a timing advance and a new ignition unit or something. I had it fitted to mine and it really brought it up to speed. Stihl saw what he did and released the same mod/kit as an aftermarket “upgrade” never admitting their error. Pretty soon the second lot of 201s had it as standard. A big error on their part, cost them a lot of goodwill.
  19. Two tree work posts in a row with ladders. The earth is healing.
  20. Take them out and check the action, that it actually ‘clicks’ Plus the contacts/wires are in.
  21. I had similar. Check the switches/buttons (green/black/yellow) They can stop working without you realising.
  22. Probably wisest to get tested. Simple blood test will tell you.
  23. At the risk of being too serious. Wasp and bee attacks kill more people than crocodile and lion attacks combined (at least in the UK) Once the Asian hornet gets a real foothold on the UK that will increase. Many people are allergic to the stings and need to carry an épi pen to avoid dying from just one sting.
  24. Appreciate the input. We’ve done loads of testing, it’s not that.
