  1. Wordle 1,209 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟨⬜ 🟨🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  2. Different times for sure. A lot has changed as we’ve become more au fait with internet chatter.
  3. Igor is almost back to normal. Vets tomorrow for a look see In the meantime I have upgraded his travelling arrangements!
  4. Wordle 1,208 X/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩
  5. It depends, as they say. Certain types of trees will tolerate that sort of hard pruning very well. Limes, planes and some others. Beech are not on that list. It’s likely that your beech has a TPO, and is already subject to a pruning regime, albeit a much more gentle one than you imagined. Any chance of more photos?
  6. Wordle 1,207 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  7. Slowly but surely thanks for asking, swelling has gone down a lot, he spends a lot of time without his collar on, just at night or when he attacks it in earnest. He’s happier and more settled, which is the main thing.
  8. Wordle 1,204 6/6 ⬜🟨🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟨🟨 ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩⬜🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  9. In a way it isn’t, at least for the purists who think pollards should be started at an early age, this started as a topping/reduction. But very little, if any, rot in the pollard heads, so all good for the moment.
  10. This lime was a maiden that I started a pollard cycle in 2008 ish. First two pics (with blue pick up) are of its first ‘repollard’ in 2015. Last three are today’s job. The original couple I worked for are deceased, so their three sons use it as a holiday home, which has a nice continuity to it. Almost certainly the last time in this tree.
  11. Wordle 1,202 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  12. You can reduce and put in cabling or strops to hold them together. That could cost the same as a removal. Depends how much you want to keep the tree.
  13. Opining from photos is always tricky. But no, if it’s threatening property, it’s not fine, it’s likely to fail.
  14. Wordle 1,200 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ 🟨🟨🟨🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Good start there Doug, as a contrast….
  15. Got rain here, hoping not too heavy as we’re going for it. Not a big job so we’ll try and power through. Igor healing nicely, getting used to the routine. He’s coming to work today so that’ll make him happy.
  16. Looks more like a purple plum. maybe Phellinus Pomaceus?
  17. Heres one for you lot. First year I’ve seen these in my garden, this one maybe 5’’ or more diameter, grouping of half a dozen. Nearest tree is an ailing, poorly planted lime. Top and bottom as is usually requested
  18. Male dogs often target other dogs bollocks.
  19. Better today, the effects of the general anaesthetic have worn off (which make you feel rotten) and the painkillers are kicking in, so he’s calm. We have to clean and stérilise his arse after every shit, which neither me or him are going to enjoy!
