  1. @AHPP any truth in the rumours the Palestine Solidarity Activist hunger strikers use pictures of your cooking to keep them motivated to abstain?
  2. Good stuff Svat, never surrender! @topchippyles it’s a question that I ask myself more and more. I’m training a young climber atm and he’s taking huge leaps (not literally) week on week. So for 85% of the stuff we do he’s as quick as me or near enough, this leaves me on the ground, running the ropes and feeding the chipper and guess what? It’s harder work than climbing especially on my rather fragile back, but he loves climbing and every day he’s in the harness and up the trees he’s happy, who could deny him that? But to get back to your question, what’s next for me? In an ideal world I’d just hire another fit young person, let them do the grunt work and just run the loader and grinder. Employing another body is too much of a risk though. I’ll just carry on, hopefully stay working (in treework) till retirement, mechanise as much as possible, try and get the work that suits us best, head down to the finish line!
  3. It’s the lowest of low grade firewood imo.
  4. If you got it free, it’s still too expensive.
  5. Wordle 1,642 3/6 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 No offence, but you can keep your Twos, too much luck involved, Threes is where the true glory lies.
  6. Alex, I reckon most people saw it coming a mile off.
  7. On the face of it yes. But consider they were heavily armed, with no intention of escape or capture, they had selected a easily defendable raised base, practically a concrete stockade, with views over all approaches. A sniper in the flats from where we saw the videos would have taken them out easily enough, but how long to set that up? Interested in the thoughts of ex military on this question.

  11. Lots of confusion about his identity on twitter, some saying he’s as you state, some saying he’s called Edward Crabtree.
  12. Very good point.
  13. In case anyone thought differently, I did not cook a thing, all the wife’s work.
  14. Not normally a thread I frequent, but here’s Sunday nights offering. Chicken stuffing, sprouts, carrots, mashed swede, cauliflower, gravy. Very trad.
  15. Sailor got a bit of a dicky tummy?
  16. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other Les. Better times round the corner.
  17. Yes, very brave indeed. But in other footage I saw that gunman go back to the bridge to the other gunman and did he get another gun and start shooing again? The timeline is confusing.
  18. Footage coming out of Bondi Beach is almost unbelievable.
