  1. Yep, that’s about the bones of it. The only thing to be careful of is when you get further along the trunk, enough for the top to sit straight in the ground and then it’s anyone’s guess which way it’ll fall. Bit of common sense will see you through though.

    Boing

That’s a good shout. Makes sense when you look at it.
  3. Last years nest. At least 25metres up!
  4. It’s about as old as @eggsarascal’s one about the burglar and the Rottweiler. Circa 1970s
  5. It’s been done with many different lighthouses/Navies
  6. It is a gonner I’m afraid (well it’s pretty much gone anyway) You have a bit of regrowth there but that amounts to nothing. It will have to come out at some point.
  7. I like eucs, easy dismantles, chips nice, sure they’re short term, but so what?
  8. Some little Renault express type thing I would have thought. Keep your stuff dry, runs on fumes.
  9. Only since ‘99 in Europe. You reckon if the Yanks could buy a competitive US built saw they’d buy a Swedish (or German) one?
  10. The theory is that Stihl and Husky make their money on this stuff rather than the pro saws, they sell many more of these than the pro saws. But, they sell them because the average Joe sees Stihl and Husky stuff in the hands of the pros and equates the brand with quality. MaCulloch made the mistake of dumping their pro saw range years ago in favour of the homeowner stuff and lost out because the public lost faith in the brand. I read it somewhere but it makes sense.
  11. Just seems such an odd thing to spend all day arguing about.
  12. We stopped off at a Neanderthal pole dancing joint it’s true. (Surprisingly widespread in rural France)
  13. Ideally I’d like to see her in a light summer skirt in the grounds of Castle Howard assessing an early Victorian vase first, but needs must.
  14. I mean she’s no Fiona Bruce, but from behind, in a dark cave. Dont judge me!
  15. As an aside, whilst on the subject of early human migration. How amazing is it that caucasians are 1 or 2% Neanderthal and Africans have no Neanderthal genes? Must have caused some pisstake around the campfires. ’you literally shagged a neanderthal mate, so don’t talk about my bird like that’
  16. The sea was angry that day…
  17. Bit early, sun barely over the yardarm. But the wife’s in the UK, so hitting the Sauvignon early to dull the memory of yet another wet week. Plus a flick through a book an old mate sent me. Happy memories!
  18. Worth waiting for!
  19. I had no idea keeping your rear end in your trousers posed such a problem. May I suggest a belt and or braces? New technology I know but seems to work.
  20. Are you ‘hard as phook’ and super fit then? Dare I ask what ‘botty retention’ is?
  21. Anyway, for the OP. This question pops up quite often. General consensus is that (failing someone on here offering you a few days) you’re best off contacting firms direct, explain the situation and get a few days in dragging brush and generally getting a feel for it before committing.
