  1. Simply put, he’s wrong.
  2. C’mon Doug, spill the beans, I want my goddam sardines.
  3. 1200kg. Ps, that’s the graft point isn’t it?
  4. It’s not just China bashing. If they produced a brand new design, with innovative features, and put it out at that price (or any price in fact) I’d be interested. But they steal decades of research and work of other companies, by just copying. I don’t really care that much you understand, buy what you like.

  6. I use a Blake’s on my climb line, and a rope grab on my wire cored flip line. Could not get used to the self tending on the ZZ for everyday stuff, though I still use it on the biggest trees.
  7. Nothing rash! Speak to some property developers, this should set you up till they carry you out the door. Choose wisely.
  8. I’d rather be roped in to the one you’re working on.

  11. Yes, worth three or four re-runs.
  12. Agreed. We had a Job in ‘94 (I was working for a landscaper at the time) at a stately home called Groombridge Place on the East Sussex/Kent border. Plantation of 7/8 year old or so mixed trees on a south facing slope above the house, all with plastic tree tubes. Job was to strim between the tubes, rake the arisings to the bottom and burn (safely!) As you say weeks of walking the lines in the heat, absolutely miserable. So I decided that the best way of speeding it up was a series of smaller fires (less raking) I think you know what’s coming, wind picked up, and we lost control of it, over the next couple of hours we tried to fight it, many times we thought we’d got it, then the wind would pick up and an ember would restart it somewhere else, every tree tube caught and the plastic melted killing the trees, fire brigade came out, the whole nine yards. They never replanted, marked it up as sunny slope that attracted lizards and rare reptiles etc. The owners never really caused a fuss which was odd. Must go back some day.

  14. A day or so mucking about and you would be able to operate a digger for low skill stuff like up-rooting rhodies. Digging foundation trenches etc is a different story. As has been said before, loads of people can operate a digger, not many are digger operators.
  15. Species. Soil type. Age of house. Photos. Come on, throw us a bone here.
  16. Wordle 1,137 6/6 ⬜🟨⬜⬜🟨 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜🟨 ⬜🟩🟩⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟨⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 I was petulant today, and It showed.

  18. I suppose the election has suddenly become interesting. Kamala Harris has had a serious effect on polls, suggesting she has closed the gap significantly. Trump won’t debate her, and I don’t blame him for that. If she has a strong campaign, builds up momentum, she is undoubtedly in with a shout. I think personal attacks like JD Vance’s are the wrong tactic for the Republicans.
  19. Wordle 1,135 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Considering the first two lines, I’m pleased with that.
  20. As I understand it…. He is saying that in four years many of the problems will have been resolved so completely that it will be impossible for ‘the other side’ to reverse his measures. He is not saying that he will abolish democracy and introduce some kind of dictatorship.
  21. In fairness to Trump, I think he would need to be President to do it. I mean it’s bollocks of course, but that’s what he means.
  22. Wordle 1,134 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟨⬜🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Sloppy
