My policy on this sort of thing is simple. I either take it out completely or I don’t touch the tree. -
I hear you. But tbh we have max 3 or 4 years left in this house. So that’s always a consideration in these decisions. For instance our asparagus bed ran out of steam couple of years back, not worth replanting new crowns as you have to wait 3 years to the first harvest.

Well, I have to say I hadn’t considered the treated timber aspect of things, thanks for pointing it out. I did a bit of googling. Here’s a vid about it.

Self employed small business owner, with one full time employee. Been in the business 30 years. Have zero problem these days with people remaining anonymous on here. If they break the rules Steve breaks out the ban hammer. Otherwise, it’s the internet with all that entails.

Not any more. That lot cost only €200. I just don’t know how anyone can make money milling when the local Brico Leclerc is selling treated timber at that price.

New “raised” beds. Slightly smaller area. Took the sheets off, added granulated manure, and rotovated. Pommes de terre planted today.

We used to get it delivered, he poured the sacks directly into the “bunker” from which it was transported into the house using the “scuttle”.

As a bollard, it’s fine. The winch thing is still unused in anger. We found the prussick thingy milked modern rigging ropes. Fine on old style three strand.

Tricky half dead ash over buildings, wires etc. Lots of tag/pull line work. Finish it tomorrow. Was a good day of teamwork and no dramas as it goes.

Quite. I reckon DJT overestimated his influence with Vladimir. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him (DJT) flip sides at some point.
