  1. If you contact them they can make the boxes to any shape/size you need
  2. Listen to the instructor and take your time with all the cuts.
  3. True mine does leak but nothing a quick fix with some silicone and a little draft excluder
  4. These guys on eBay made the box for my cabstar. They can make them to any specs and have a bunch listed on eBay. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F322561278770
  5. I go out as climber/Groundie with and without my chipper. Most people will be using you for the chipper and ability to take away chip/logs. If your taking your own chipper out either you run it or take somebody you trust, never let unknown people use it as they will fuck it up. Just make sure you have somewhere to keep the chipper locked up, somewhere to lose potentially a lot of chip
  6. Had the stein spikes but didn't get on with them. Got carbon geckos now there real comfy
  7. Had the stein spikes but didn't get on with them. Got carbon geckos now there real comfy
  8. Why not use your lanyard over your shoulder? Cheaper and less Tay to carry
  9. My 372 does this. Can be a loose connection or faulty switch.
  10. That will have been tuned on a lathe using hollowing tools and a lot of bottle. Turning something with that large and void is very difficult. Have a look on YouTube for hollow form turning
  11. I have one and love it. Make sure the little tabs are engaged on the inside of the defenders
  12. Stiles and bates have awesome stock of burls
  13. My elbows are fooked from carving spoons and using axes a lot but when i climb it's just as bad [emoji19]
  14. Where are you based? It may work out easier to get a man and chipper in than buying a possible 2nd hand money pit
  15. 460 with a lo pro chain may do it. Consider a skip chain and filing it for rip maybe?
  16. Pfanner Arb fit and last well. Better than my stihls I had before
  17. Travor ahern Pfannerman August hunicke
  18. Pole barn? Chestnut poles buried in the ground and a tin roof.
  19. 4x4 pickup and trailer is a good combo but some houses you won't get a trailer in/out of easily where as a tipper would be in and out
  20. 28" on my 372 running skip chain. Rob d has them, great for a bit more reach on a lower powered saw
  21. Scott Fraser is your man. He's near goudhurst

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
