  1. There are a few listed on ebay , i would try for a repair kit before a China carb if you can , do you have the engine build numbers ? it will id the carb fitted As Garden Kit pointed out a lot of spares are obsolete , but Euro tecumseh part numbers are not the same as USA a lot of spares are still around if you can xref to the US part numbers , it can be a pain but its an option ..
  2. Try this link , carb id list most Tecumseh parts can still be had with a bit of searching and luck . Tecumseh Carburetor Manufacturing Numbers
  3. Worth there weight in gold
  4. Pitch dark night , i had my 9 year old Daughter in the car when i went to check the yard , i never asked many questions until i was happy they were no threat to my Daughter or myself . And no they were not exactly friendly when i turned up.
  5. On the front axle check there is no wear on the swash plate adjuster dowel pin , i see you have adjusted this already but check the shaft is not moving inside the arm under load ie on a slope . parking brake sticking would be my other thought , front axle feeds oil to the rear so it is always a bit harder to turn by hand , These machines require regular oil changes on the trans if they work hard ..
  6. Couple of nice chaps tried to rob my yard about 12 years ago , the police wanted to charge me with assault as i put one of them in hospital , They claimed that i had attacked them ! it is a fine line if there are two witnesses against one
  7. Have a look at A&B Services Killin website for some ideas
  8. Yup , seen a 560 clutch going about 300 yards down the road one day ,
  9. Your saw is not a Strato
  10. I would check the carb for dirt , had a couple of intakes with small splits on 365 , 372 and 390 just behind throttle cable holder , got a run on saws this week with very fine grit in the fuel ! i see your in Scotland as well so worth checking your tank cans , prob same refinery as you

    Anyone?

I agree , it just amazes me that someone is willing to spend £1000 on a big brand chainsaw and £200/£300 on a Quality bar and chain and stick the whole lot into a Sub £100 Mill from China !
  12. Sounds like fuel starvation rather than an air leak , is it a Strato model ?
  13. Most of the time your springs will be weak when shocks are due for a change , if the springs are shot you will overwork the shocks and they will not last long.
  14. You do not have to use XP oil for warranty , Husky dealers have had there knuckles wrapped for this before , oil must meet spec for the machine . for example Husqvarna HP is suitable for ALL 2 stroke engines made by Husky .just check there website or your handbook ..

    Anyone?

You going to run a China saw on that setup then ?

    Husq 550xp Dud

Aspen has a shelf life of 5 years , or should i say the container it is in has a 5 year shelf life , Pump fuel here in Argyll is going "off" after a matter of weeks . If your repair shop "Think" it means they do not know or do not know how to test a machine correctly for faults , this leads us back to your first problem , did they "Think" they had corrected the original fault or did they check the saw over correctly and diagnose the problem ??

    Husq 550xp Dud

I would say that the saw has an underlying fault that has caused the issue rather than Aspen ! it cant compensate for a saw with a fault ..

Husqvarna brought out a new cylinder and piston kit , Top cover and Autotune updates for the 550xp ,crank bearings are well known issues with these saws , my own personal saw had a worn cylinder at 50 hours 2014 model .. if your cutting firewood try a Husky 365 ...
  19. There is your problem then , crank will not be flush with the bearing on the clutch side ..
  20. Yes the crank should be fitted clutch side first then flywheel side case fitted , How did you fit the bearing ? and how did you pull the crank into the case ?
  21. njm

    Anyone?

Good luck if any buyer requires spares or support from them
  22. The crank must be fitted to the clutch side first , flush with the bearing .
  23. njm

    Anyone?

Royston have a manufacturing facility in China listed on there website , Yongkang Senmal Tools share the same address .
  24. Main bearing not seated correctly , Crank not fitted correctly , china crank case ?
  25. If one bearing has started to fail it can sometimes be hard to find play checking by hand , if the cage has started to fail the bearings bunch up when running causing vibration , i have had 3 in this year already with bearing issues on the clutch side . Check your crankcase bolts are not coming loose, found a few with this problem .
