  1. As above , looks about the norm
  2. 3/8 for what your going to do .
  3. Times are changing in the industry , i will agree that the build of some machines is a bit "plastic" but most other brands are the same , If the dealer was on the ball they would know which Husky models to stock .
  4. Smartwater do a kit for small business one off payment 5 year licence , there are other systems so shop around , i feel its well worth the money just as a deterrent .
  5. Just noticed ! sorry , i use it on my hire equipment
  6. Smartwater or any of the other dna liquid products .
  7. I use a 4 stroke Honda in my garden due to the low noise levels , i would not sell a Honda to a contractor , at your price range have a look at Kaaz or Efco - Oleo Mac or Echo .
  8. They all have issues new or old , most dont last 8 months full time in the wood , if you want to go deaf go for the exhaust mod , autotune can be modded for the hot start issue but dont bother as your saw is new , Husky have a service bulletin out for the 550, there is a new cylinder ,autotune unit , top cover , cylinder gasket sealing procedure and new ignition just to cure the problems that the new ones dont have ! get the saw to the dealer get it sorted or exchanged

    Porting Saws

Depends on who what and how , Who did the porting , what they did and how they did it , my 560xp stock piston with no mods and mild porting no probs so far , i think the saw runs a tad cooler now so that must be good

    which saw??

Bang for buck the 365 is hard to beat , pro cases with a derated motor it should last for years , i also have a husky 570 again derated motor on 575xp bottom end , for firewood its hard to beat these saws

    which saw??

I too would say Husky 365

    550xpg

If you have a good Husky Dealer ask them to plug the saw in and check fault codes , any code with the mention of air leak will probably be cylinder gasket , All the saws i have done have had new cylinders and ignitions before mod to needle so i started with a known good saw but with hot starting fault and all 3 were 2012 models ?

    550xpg

What i should have said , the intake pulse will not open the needle at starter speed if the fuel has boiled off in the fuel valve , extra fuel in the chamber will flood the fuel valve circuit , autotune will compensate by adjusting the fuel valve pulses but the saw will run a bit rich in the mid range , saws tend to run a few degrees cooler plus extra fuel stops vapour lock , Husky are well aware of vapour lock problems [ mod tank vent and new top cover ]

Get your Dealer to check the part no of your ignition against the service bulletin for the 550 , Needle spring mod is to adjust the pressure required to open the needle , Best left to a good saw mech , i have done 3 so far , instant hot start with no fast idle or decomp , saws start far better cold and run better in the cut these saws were all 2012 saws with hot start faults , what i have found with autotune that its very good at leaning off the fuel but not so keen on making it run rich under load , Most 550xp saws that do not start hot have vapour locked as the pulse at starter speed will not open the needle ..

    550xpg

They run too lean , mod the needle spring and there a good saw , also faults with the ignition at idle and cylinder gaskets leaking , Husky use sealer on the gasket now and there are new ignition units for them , 560XP also have major cylinder gasket problems
  16. 362 on an 18" , 441s went with 20" , most of the 560xps were running 18" bar on 3/8 chain ,

    550xpg

Make sure its a new model with the revised cylinder
  18. Hi Mendiplogs , one 362 but the rest have gone for the 441 , the 441 is a nice saw
  19. Last year i must have fitted over 20 avs to 560xp saws , new springs have been ok so far with just the odd failure , but there again most of the cutters have swiched to Stihl !
  20. Is the saw running with a spur sprocket ? if so has it got large grooves worn into it ?
  21. Hi all , looking for a good bare crankcase 390xp if any one has a set or a scrap saw they want to sell ? cheers
  22. Sad but true the 560 is a very soft saw , pity as its a very nice saw to work with ,
  23. You say you got the saw "cheap" now you know why , please do not waste money and time on these saws , buy one to replace it and keep this for spares or ebay with it
  24. The original Husqvarna xp oil in the square bottles also claimed to stop ethanol degrading , i see they no longer state this in there blurb
  25. Yamaha outboards can run e10 from late 80s as can most engines produced for the Marine industry
