  1. I put a fresh mix of Stihl HP Super in my New Efco blower , left it for 3 weeks and the fuel was RED ! the fuel was leaching the colour from the machines tank Running Aspen now
  2. Less load on the motor in or out of the cut , saw will rev out on an 18" bar so it requires a bit more fuel on the H screw to control peak rpm . Take the line out of a strimmer and see what happens .
  3. As above with 2 strokes or switch to Aspen 2 , I run all my 4 strokes on Aspen now but had good results with B&S Fuel fit in small engines and my bikes .
  4. Less load on the motor just check your not running lean at the top end , The Sugi looks good
  5. Better check your peak rpm
  6. Fuel in the carb , or if you tell the dealer its running on cooking oil , Stihl HP meets the required standard for all Husky + Stihl machines , i use HP Super or Aspen 2 stroke oil when i am not running Aspen .
  7. Will be interested to hear your findings , i run Aspen 2 and 4 in my own equipment .
  8. Run any oil that meets spec and warranty is ok as per handbook , Husqvarna HP is suitable for the entire Husqvarna range of 2 stokes , you could run Stihl oil if you want and the saw is still under warranty .
  9. In fairness to the 550 /560 most fuel issues i have seen with them were down to crap fuel , Most of the cutters around here run them flat out with poundshop oil, never clean or maintain the saws airways or air filter then wonder hows it stopped ? Funny how the dealers always blame faults on the Carb ? Base gasket is a major issue on these saws !

    Chain wear ?

Yes there is a hint of beef about most things this Character comments on
  11. Not seen many hard worked ones making north of 200 hours
  12. Sad to say that some dealers are struggling to get up to speed with Autotune Time for them to catch up or just Give up ,

    Chain wear ?

Yes i agree , The drivel merchant is the local Oregon dealer , got a feeling he is not too pleased at my company selling Sugi so he has to turn to rubbishing the product .

    Chain wear ?

Hi all , Had an customer in today telling me that the local know all has told him not to put a SugiHara bar on his 560 as the bars are "Too hard and just wear out the chain" , I sell Sugi bars Via Rob and know all the cutters running the bars i have sold have not had an issue , just looking for feedback before i speak to the customer again ., Thanks
  15. Good to hear you have some progress , did you run a glaze buster down the pot ?
  16. Forget about the timing gear , have you checked any of the things suggested ?
  17. It is quite amazing how much oil a piston can move , the oil will not be displaced through the exhaust if just cranking due to its weight , But as you say top end issue would be the most probable cause , A Diesel can draw oil on a cylinder with low compression if it requires combustion pressure to back up the rings ie bent rod , rings , valve . But as you say without the engine under your nose its just guess work
  18. Sounds like its pulling oil up on the firing stroke , Rings / Piston , possible the bore is glazed or washed out if that cylinder was running low compression for a time before the valve failed altogether , Compression readings would still look good due to the oil forced past the rings , As with all these things its just a guess without looking at the engine
  19. I run Aspen in my 576XP , i do switch back to pump fuel and then Aspen again with no problem , if your saw has a carb get it tuned on Aspen as the low jet needs a tweak on most machines ,
  20. Quite a few splitters run with Dexron II easy to spot as its red , Dexron is a 10w oil .
  21. Here is what i have found with 550xp with this fault , Meter lever requires adjusted , Stihl Ht lead clips have a habit of wearing the end of the spark plug in a mater of weeks 441 and 661 .
  22. Yes my company , You should have your equipment repaired by whoever You feel will do the best job , i was just pointing out that the chances are you saw is running way too lean
  23. njm

    what saw?

Looks like it could be an 038 , check the serial number
  24. There is an "expert" in Argyll that runs saws way way too lean and wont use a tach , There is more than one place for repairs in your area . New company in Kilmory ind est , Aspen Dealer , A lot of pro cutters going there now
