  1. Hello All, I thought I should update my previous post. After many months of back and forth to Stihl, and numerous mis-leading diagnostics, they finally, reluctantly admitted that they could not fix it and issued us with a refund. The unofficial verbal response I had from them was that there is an unknown glitch with the m-tronic and they were still trying to work out what caused it. (Our saw ended up being sent back to head office in Germany). They said that some of the new saws with m-tronic have been affected by this, but until you buy and use one, you won't know if your saw is likely to be one that suffers (how's that for a sale's pitch!). I would say that even if your saw is out of warranty but suffering from this problem, deal with the technical department of Stihl direct and keep persevering with them. You might be lucky and get them to accept that it is the saw that is at fault, not you. Good luck. Bettina
  2. Smashed the back window (parked off road in a field) Serial number of saw - 162920392 thanks Dave
  3. Morning, just a quick thread to say would fellow climbers out there be on the look out for the following piece of kit that was stolen from a locked vehicle yesterday. An older Stihl MS 200 with 12" Stihl guide bar, and orange bungee strop with knot and non-standard (smaller) anchor ring attached and gold coloured DMM carabiner. The saw has a melted plastic area around the exhaust and a non-standard home made fuel breather pipe. Also taken from my young colleagues car - a bright orange climbing bag with a new tree hog climbing harness and Yale ropes inside. We were working near How Caple in Herefordshire and it happened about 2pm yesterday afternoon. many thanks Dave
  4. Hi, does anyone else out there have an issue with the new M-tronic MS362 not starting up again once it is warm? The saw is less than 6 months old and has already been back to Stihl once for a new carburetor under warrenty. But, it will not start up again once warm, taking at least 40 pulls a time to get going, and now over 100 pulls on some days. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and whether Stihl ever solved the problem for you. (no wonder it's sold as being 20% more fuel efficient - you end up using it less because it won't start!). many thanks Bettina
