  1. As above but bear in mind these engines will make your eyes water on a cold start ..they love fuel
  2. 372XP and X torq wrap handles are available from husky in the uk , will be around the £120 mark from memory
  3. Spot on , £12 an hour would about pay my overheads if i was flat out and that's about it , working for nowt is easy making a profit is the hard bit .
  4. Just as an example ! 25 Mile radius free collection and drop off , 50 miles return trip to collect then 50 miles to deliver , 1 hour job = £12 100 miles traveled and say £10 in fuel if you have a diesel @ 50mpg plus 3 hours travel time = £0.50 an hour .
  5. There is a sub industry buying and selling this kind of kit in my area , one source is a "respected " dealer , fairly sure many sales are made to unsuspecting buyers as well as the "got a cheap saw " brigade who just do not give a toss where it came from .
  6. Triple check the roller bearings or plastic bushes in the roller , depending on model , if there worn the new pinion will be scrap in a day
  7. single roller or twin ? check for play in the roller bearings , drive gear worn ect , 66, 141 , 9 are bad for wearing , older models use a plastic bush in the drum , later models have bearings on the side of the machine , which do you have ?
  8. The job he quoted £25 for took 2 men 8 hours plus 1 hour travel , he never showed to do the job , a week after the job was done the "Nice wee man " turned up at the clients house and proclaimed that he would have had it all done in an hour and that they had been ripped off by the other company ! not good press for any company ? His only interest is causing damage to anyone in the area that dares look at a tree job on "His" patch , so he quotes impossible prices for jobs that he has no skill or intention of carrying out .
  9. There is a Nice wee man in my area that runs around pricing every tree job he finds out about , Quote A £550 his Quote £25 , Quote A £2850 his quote £1000 and on it goes If this was the scenario yes i would be kicking up a stink otherwise thats just life and move on .
  10. Buy a new Kaaz and save your self a pile of grief .
  11. Old saws from my youth still make top of the list 254 272 xp 372 xp 390 xp 560 xp
  12.

<p>Hi , The meter leaver pop off pressure tends to be very high on saws with this issue , the spring needs to be modified to set a lower pressure , this is not a task for a home mechanic . if done correctly the saw will start 1/2 pull hot .. there have been stacks of updates / fixes for the 550xp but the main problem is they run lean to meet emission regs . get it off to a good dealer and see how they get on first ..</p>

    <p>All the best Neil</p>

  13. Mine was still under warranty , Dealer tried all the Husky " Fixes " , Husky still stick to there guns that the saws are being flooded by incorrect starting procedure when they will not Hot start . These saws are running hot and lean when you switch off the heat sink is very high . I made adjustments to the Autotune unit which cured the hot start issues , i would not go down this road until you have tried the dealers first due to the fact your saw is not very old , get any updated parts / software done under warranty first . Aspen may help a bit as it will not evaporate as quick as pump fuel ,
  14. And doing all that will make no difference either if the saw has the usual 550 "hot start" issues . i could have flung mine down the hill a few times !
  15. Southern Ireland . Still a popular brand over there .
  16. I can get Jonsered spares from Ireland faster than my "down the road Husky clueless dealer " can get parts to me ! i rate them higher for this reason .
  17. Given that the saw is still under warranty i would have your dealer plug it in and check the codes , could be the Autotune unit about to fail , or there could be an air leak and the Autotune has done all it can to compensate .
  18. Some of the older Tanaka saws were good , Hitachi owns them now . still get a lot of older saws in for service / repair , owners very happy with the service from them .
  19. I do like the Echo saws but the local dealer would struggle with a spark plug which is a shame . My list would be , taking spares and service into consideration for this area 1 - Stihl 2 - Makita /Dolmar 3 - Tanaka 4 - Efco 5 - Johnsered 6 - Echo 7 - Husqvarna
  20. The 550xp is a very nice saw to use , Dolmar / Makita have a good following and to be honest are a well made saw , i sold on my own 550xp after a few issues if i was to buy a new 50cc now for personal use it would probably be a Stihl
  21. I usually pop them with a small screwdriver , some fall out fairly easily and some are a pain .. what ever works for you .
  22. Forgot to say ! your carb looks like an Emission carb , there should be a security cap over the idle jet , if so remove and check for dirt in the jet .
