  1. Never scrapped a 560 cylinder yet , couple have been close
  2. 2011 / 2012 run very well if they have not been updated . nice clean saw by the way .
  3. Split 4 saws last year with this problem , already done one this year !
  4. Yes mod cases have an extra bolt but they can still draw oil ,
  5. Husky 560xp and 550xp saws have a nasty habit of drawing from the chain oil tank , done a vac test on one the other week all looked good but it was burning chain oil when running hard , I think this could be your your carbon problem . guess what happens when they run out of chain oil ? Bang ,

    25" bar and chain

As already said the Stock Stihl oil pump will struggle over 20" , Why not try a SugiHara bar
  7. we have a Husky Dealer in Argyll that has an average repair time of 6 - 9 months for minor problems , TBH your not doing too bad .
  8. Yes its one of the worst i have had in , saws used for brashing seem to be the worst for the stuffers going , running high revs with low load all day . this one went running flat out .
  9. Here is a 560 in today with a very loose crank stuffer , note the standard issue blown base gasket !
  10. Major issue on hard worked saws , 3 560 bottom ends on the bench this week , 2 have stuffers with hairline cracks , stacks of play in them .
  11. Scrap yards were paying up to £300 for sprinter cats
  12. I have had 3 huskys in for repair this year with no tags , all 3 came from a Dealer

    Stihl 084

Stick a rim sprocket kit on the saw , just swap rims 3/8 - 404 . 11240071000 part number for 404 kit , just order a 3/8 rim as well
  14. For every 10 clutch repairs we get in 8 will be Husky 560 ,
  15. turning the saw with the spark plug removed ? check the oil pump drive / remove exhaust check for damage
  16. Worked on 2 Dmax that had been serviced by a Indy garage , they both ran like a bag of bolts , engines were rough under load and down on power , i replaced the fuel filters (which were black) and changed the oil to Shell R6 LM , night and day after , I think that there is a huge lack of understanding as to how important that the correct engine oil is used in DPF engines . Isuzu only recommend fuel filter change if the light is displayed on the dash ! no thanks .
  17. Fs40 common faults , coil failure , carb problems , most carb problems can be put down to the slime that comes from the local petrol pumps in this area .
  18. I have a late 2012 570 owned from new and used for firewood only , runs a 20" bar fine , the saw is identical to a 576xp carb model apart from the barrel and piston , my 2009 576xp runs rings round it . but its a very smooth saw to use .

    diagnosis

Fair enough but personally i would not run a saw for 30 seconds on old fuel .

Your repairing seized saws with no obvious air leaks ect and you have not noticed much issue with old fuel ? on a big saw you might hear it start to detonate before its to late .
  21. I use Oregon bpx for firewood duty , easy to sharpen and dulls less in dirty wood , find it works well in seasoned oak ect
  22. njm

    diagnosis

Had a few seized saws this year , no fault found with the machines bar poor quality fuel , all damaged on exhaust port side , all had toxic smelling gunk for fuel in the tank .
  23. Belzona is very good ,
  24. Just remember @ 25:1 you have 2% less fuel
  25. Changed countless rubber fuel lines destroyed with pump fuel , dry stored and wet stored machines , Husky hedge trimmers , fill with fuel and watch the hose dissolve . Anyone put any thought into pump fuel damage to crank seals and impulse pipes before switching to Aspen ?
