  1. Our broker Be wiser (using Aviva) put our Subaru Forester renewal up by nearly a grand this year!?! (We had a non fault accident) I ended up putting it on a work/personal policy with Arborisk who got it down less than last year’s price. I since found out that our “payout” for the crash way £8.5k of which we got only £1800!!! Crooks. “Be Wiser” use someone else!
  2. Excellent saws. We’ve got two, one on a 15” and one 18”. We’ve had them for nearly 10 years. We bought two ms261’s to replace them about 4 years ago and they’ve still outlasted them. [emoji106]
  3. I think we will survive. There will be a bit of uncertainty at first but then we’ll thrive. The ONLY good thing I can think of that the EU did was ban genetically modified food. If we do end up pulling the drawbridge up then we’ll have to learn how to make decent cars again.

    MS 150t

Definitely the 10”. It gets very boggy on a 12” Great little pruning tool. [emoji106]
  5. Once the rope bridge on the petzl sequoia starts to fray it deteriorates very quickly. The bridge on my mates sequoia went from looking worn to this in one mornings climbing!!!
  6. Ive has a few different harnesses. From what you say Mark, I think you would like the Vega. Similar in a lot of ways to the sequoia without the buckle issues. A comfy no nonsense harness.
  7. I keep seeing my old Hilux that got nicked popping up. Right wind up. [emoji30][emoji35][emoji34]
  8. Hi Paul, We came to a arbAC workshop a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. We worked through our tickets and got more or less everything in place. We’ve just been so flat out busy that we never got round to it. Thinking about it, the arbAC stickers would come in handy to hold our rusty, knackered trucks together. Maybe next year....... [emoji106]
  9. Extras.. we call these customers “Columbo’s” Oh.. just one more thing
  10. Recently got asked if I could cut a row of skanky conifer stems into “seats” along side the fence where they were growing..... The customer thought it would look good.....
  11. Come to think of it, there were a lot of them in the dessert display at Costa today. Flying insects that is.....
  12. Surely radical Islam has to shoulder some of the blame?
  13. For laying across the top of tall spindly conny hedges when you’re trimming them.
  14. Very sorry to hear this. He was a fine looking dog. Like a French mastiff type.
  15. Our prices tend to fluctuate. When we are really busy I’ll try and price us out of the less well paid work eg conifers and hedge work, that way we can try and cherry pick the better jobs.
  16. Dunno about skiing but Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe [emoji106]
  17. This is probably the sort of thing you’re after. https://www.rockexotica.com/hydra/
  18. You’re not wrong ..
  19. Surely your Loler guy can put his own ID mark on your rope as he is LOLERing the rope this time and can establish its date of first use?
  20. The absolute worst thing you can find on a job is the fact that the customer never had any intention of paying you. Only happened once in eleven years thankfully.
  21. Doing good thanks mate. Not doing so much climbing at the minute as other duties are taking my focus right now. Thanks for asking [emoji106]
  22. And hate the way it seems to get “reactivated” the next time it rains.
  23. It was just about worth it, if I remember right they even offered us a cup of tea. “Er... nah you’re ok thanks” I recon Eggs would have seen (and smelt) some sights in his line of work..,
  24. Doing a garden rubbish clearance years ago, it became apparent that the family who lived there would just launch dirty nappies straight out of the back door into the garden. It got worse further in when we found a carrier bag with a litter of dead puppies, think they’d been drowned. Filth.
