  1. There's been a few over the years as I'm sure you're well aware. I'm thinking of Balfour and Co.. Ord Wingate was a notable player during the time.
  2. I heard from some of the old regulars that had drunk there for years and years that the Brewery that owned the pub asked "4 pints" to come in and work the door as well, apparently they'd been having a lot of of trouble with a certain group of regulars. No one wanted to drink there anymore and the place was a right dive. Apparently, business has picked up rather well, and they've done it up, in spite of it being in such a rough part of town. They still reckon it's best to stay out of the pool room on Saturday nights though.
  3. If only...... If only the mob outside would give the poor fella the nod to accept the drinks back... Who's round is it anyway? [emoji3][emoji173]️[emoji106][emoji868] Shalom!!

    Jokes???

A man and wife go to see the consultant at hospital to get his test results because he's been very sick. The consultant asks to speak with the wife in private and tells her that her husband has a very serious and rare illness. He could be dead within three months. His only hope is if he stops working and gets looked after by his wife. He must only eat his favourite things. Drink his favourite drinks. Watch all of his favourite films and TVs shows. He mustn't lift a finger in the house and must be waited on hand and foot in total luxury if he is to stand any chance of surviving this illness. The wife is understandably distraught at the news. Driving home from the hospital the husband asks the wife.... "What did the consultant say to you?" The wife replies.... "I'm really sorry love, you've only got three months to live!"
  5. Here's another interesting graphic.
  6. What he also didn't tell you is that the pub is completely surrounded by the empty glass guys mates who have already killed the 4 pint guys friends and relatives and now they are waiting for the opportunity to get him.... he's just decided that unlike his already dead and abused kin. He's not going to go down without a fight. Great analogy! Cheers!!
  7. Sounds like a golden opportunity for the the right person. Nice one [emoji106]
  8. S'right. But it's easier just to take the ages old view that it's the fault of the Jews. "Nothing new under the sun" as a wise man once said. [emoji106]
  9. I don't agree with everything that Israel does, but I do think that the PA (the grand Mufti, Arafat and Abbas) and Hamas shoulder the brunt of the blame for the sorry mess of the ordinary Palestinians. You only have to look at what is taught in Palestinian schools to understand why the misery is perpetuated. The Palestinians are betrayed by their own leaders. Here's an interesting piece written by a Palestinian human rights activist. Personally, I think it speaks volumes about why no solution has been found. https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/7637/palestinians-betrayal
  10. Very debatable that one. When was the last time Israel/Palestine a Sovereign Arab nation? If you trace back through it's history you will find that it was about 500 years ago. Personally I'm in favour of a two state solution.... but they've already been offered that and turned it down. The sad but uncomfortable truth is that the Palestinians won't be satisfied until every Israeli has been ethnically cleansed, the holocaust denied, and the remains of the original temple that is under the mosque dumped into a landfill site.
  11. Don't you mean fallible? Surely, only the pope is infallible [emoji33] Interesting you mention the Palestinians, as their plight seems to be all the worse when they are "housed" in neighbouring Arab countries, something that the BDS movement conveniently turns a blind eye to..., I have good friends on both sides of that argument. But thats another debate. (One that I'm well up for by the way) [emoji51][emoji106]
  12. Maybe....
  13. Yes, imagine that, a prime minister who displayed honesty and integrity regardless of his popularity. [emoji15] It would make a refreshing change from all of the usual spin doctored shapeshifters we've had to get accustomed to.
  14. But that's not what he was saying, was it? Piers Morgan was trying to force him into saying it but he didn't. Perhaps what he meant was that if he had been raped he would carry his own pregnancy through to full term. ( notice I didn't fall into the gender non-binary trap there! )
  15. None taken, Mark, and certainly no disrespect meant to you for your own convictions. Thanks for the reprieve!
  16. You brought it up....
  17. Might have known you've got one Bob! [emoji106]
  18. Incestuous rape is always the argument trotted out by the pro-abortion gang. I wonder if you would like to hazard a guess on how many abortions are actually performed for that reason as opposed to how many are performed for other reasons such as inconvenience? Planned Parenthood in the US are one of the big players in the pro choice movement. They have really some really impeccable credentials.,, https://www.google.co.uk/amp/amp.nationalreview.com/article/448746/planned-parenthoods-brutal-century Slippery slope if you ask me....
  19. I grew up as an anarchist punk, went on all the Class War marches. Probably leant much farther left than you do right now if truth be told. After a while I started to see it for what it really was...The "freedom" that I thought I was fighting for just revealed itself to be another form of tyranny.
  20. I think that not allowing people to have their own opinions based on their own personal convictions is very intolerant. At no point in that (heavily edited) excerpt did Rees Mogg say that he would force his own personal beliefs on someone. If holding to an opinion that "human life is sacred" is now classified as "extremism" then we're all in deep trouble.
  21. I can understand that you have a different viewpoint to Rees-Mogg, Eggs.. But to label him an extremist? At what point does someone become an extremist? This is where I struggle with left wing politics. As soon as you step out of the "approved included list" (usually if you are Jewish or Christian) you get labelled an extremist or worse. Don't you see the irony??
  22. What a seriously disturbing idea MrJ.... Political Rehab Centres for the masses.., They could be called "Granola Camps".. somewhere to send all of the budding nuts, fruits and flakes for re-alignment [emoji51] Looks like they are already taking shape in Scotland's University's ..... https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10977/does-condemning-islamic-state-jihadis-constitute
  23. I was surprised how hard the timber was when I took one down. I wasn't so surprised at the spines, like sharks teeth. The chipper didn't like the branches or fronds much either, and that was a pto chipper running off a Mog.
  24. Just because someone has a lower IQ doesn't make them a bad person or more likely to commit crime. (Not that I necessarily agree with these sweeping statements that are pushed out as "stats" either) I know people with learning difficulties who are really nice kind people. All human beings are capable of being nasty, it seems to be hard wired into our makeup, regardless of our IQ.
