  1. They already do in Droylesden don't they? Gary. They don't need to use global nuclear war as an excuse. [emoji51]
  2. Here's an example of a pre tensioned system we set up to dismantle a dead/dying sycamore leaning over buildings with asbestos roofs. The tensioned line doubled as a guy line and floating anchor point, tied into the top of the sycamore, through the fork of a neighbouring tree and anchored to the base of yet another tree nearby. We used a 3:1 mechanical advantage system with pulleys and prussic fail to safes to maintain constant tension on the line. We then tied a prussic and pulley to the tensioned line half way between the sycamore and pine to give us a floating anchor point for a separate lowering line to the only viable drop zone. Took a bit of head scratching to start with but once it was up and running the job went really smoothly. Very tempting to just say "just cut and chuck", in these situations but just one mishap could have destroyed the roofs below costing £££s (busy garden centre with public nearby too) We were careful to calculate a very tolerant SWL onto the system. (Sorry for the long winded explanation)
  3. Ours is a slightly different model to most but ours works out around 65%. Flyers 20% word of mouth 15% repeats
  4. Steve would have to stock up on emojis.... [emoji43]🥃[emoji485]🥂[emoji482][emoji481][emoji483][emoji484][emoji898]
  5. Arbtalk must have done wonders for this guys products.... 🤡🤠[emoji51]
  6. We go from 560xp (18")- 576xp (25") -ms880 (30") I'm not religious about the husky or Stihl thing Seems to work well for us, the vast majority of our work being back yard domestic.
  7. We have a 441 , it's a very lacklustre saw. Hardly ever gets used.
  8. Tenex whoopie on small stuff. Split tail or large Marlow whoopie on bigger bits.
  9. I know that BIFFA who use the in-vessel composting method (partial vacuum -25% air pressure and moisture added to speed up the process) are always quite vigilant about preventing knotweed getting in. Apparently their processes don't kill the rhizomes off. They achieved a British Standard for their composted end product and wouldn't be to chuffed to see JKW sprouting out of it.
  10. I thought you could tow a sub 750kg trailer (read chipper) behind a "car" (read 3.5t tipper) No tacho, O license and on a new car licence? According to the laymans guide to towing And on the DVSA guidelines. Am I missing something?
  11. Also. It's a good idea to mark the date when each item enters service, particularly textiles such as ropes, harness and cord. Buttons do a rope marking kit, but your Loler examiner should be able to help you if the original markers come off (which they often do).
  12. Does he get to keep the timber? If he does then he will have paid £560 per cube. Hard to make money buying it in at that price.
  13. VOSA/DVSA police and customs and excise work in multi agency teams near us. 3.5t trucks and trailers are their favourite quarry. We got issued with a couple of prohibition notices with a time limit to get the problems fixed. Having a good attitude to them when they pull you can mean the difference between a warning or points/fines.
  14. Try these.... http://www.hse.gov.uk/research/rrhtm/rr668.htm http://www.treesource.co.uk/the-art-and-science-of-practical-rigging-workbook~4466 https://www.amazon.com/Rope-American-Vertical-Techniques-Rappellers/dp/1879961059 Hope this helps. Also PM sent. [emoji106]
  15. Basque separatists [emoji849]
  16. Boris Johnson says the UK will stand together with the international community...... stand and err...... well, just stand there. What an utterly pointless statement. At least Trump has had the sense not to tweet anything.
  17. Let's face it, immigration and multiculturalism have been done to death on this thread (and others) it's extremely rare, if ever that anyone is going to change their opinions or world view just by reading someone else's conflicting opinion on a forum.
  18. Never got round to doing the tickets for a mewp. We've always managed without but I can definitely think of a few jobs that we should have used one on. Given the choice I'd rather spend on a good hiab trailer to speed things up.
  19. Failing that ,there's always Bartletts...
  20. It would be genuinely interesting to actually know for sure what their political leanings were. Maybe they are all just selfish and cynical, maybe most of them are remainers. Not all Tories are into tax evasion anymore than all labour supporters cloth cap wearing champions of social justice. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jan/20/labours-new-members-mostly-wealthy-city-dwellers-leaked-report
  21. Sorted. Much better
  22. It still works..... (kind of).....
  23. Out there you can get deported if you make a rude gesture to the wrong person when driving. Sounds like a good idea to me.,... I'd get to work quicker with that much less traffic on the road.......
  24. Probably not. I think it's the old TAPATALK one.
