  1. Thanks. [emoji106]
  2. I've just bought a new Petzl Alveo vent. Very comfy and with sturdy fixtures. An excellent hat. I've tried a few different types. Vertex vent. Very good Kask. Comfy but VERY poor fixtures. CT climbing helmet. Very good but not suited to my head shape.
  3. Thanks for this info... the kill switch on ours stopped working a while back and yes... we use the choke to stop it. Hopefully I'll get to strip it down this weekend and it only needs tightening up. I'll have to dig out the magnifying glass...
  4. £20 Aldi fishing jacket (still going strong) when it rains. Sip progress trousers always warm. Cotton t shirt (base layer when it's really cold) husky fleece when I've come down from the tree.
  5. Short answer has to be "yes they are" In my little nieces school they have banned clapping because it could be too much for the kids to cope with.
  6. I do agree with you on that. But... I also think that the Tories are at least trying to reign in some of the debt and balance things even when it's unpopular with potential voters. The Labour Party seem to have no shame when it comes to promising anything and everything just to get votes. The student loans fiasco.., Corbyn running round like some ambulance chasing lawyer flitting from Glastonbury to Grenfell Tower to Ariana Grande. Apparently his campaign office made a right nuisance of themselves trying to get him an appearance at Manchester after the bombing. Corbyn really brings a whole new meaning to the term "The classless politician"
  7. I do realise. Reading up on them, I discovered they were also gladly adapted by Blair and Brown though, to hide debt from the balance sheet. no wonder they ran out of money. Just for the record, I don't like everything the Tories do and I don't hate everything that Labour do.
  8. PFI has been described as an effective way of removing debt from the balance sheet. (Without removing the debt) Should suit the Labour Party down to the ground.
  9. Should save you a fortune in concrete Mark! [emoji51]

  13. ATM the are two groups of scared, paranoid and hating people, racists and religious non muslims. Not wanting to be combative or disrespectful to you, but I find it a bit ironic that you disdainfully stereotype and group together all non Muslim "religious" people as scared, paranoid and hating. You're very quick to get on Matelot's case, yet you are guilty of exactly the same thing you accuse him of doing! You just direct your own prejudices and bigotry at a different group of people that's all. And, what's more you come across just as ignorant and hateful as any racist. I'm not trying to insult you or provoke you, but I just thought I'd mention it. Probably, face to face, and to your friends and family you're a good guy. Who knows? I notice
  14. 3 years old, mine. Not worth rebuilding. Going to have to replace. It's earned it's keep I guess.
  15. Pot and piston?
  16. For our own good? [emoji35][emoji51][emoji849]
  17. They already do in Droylesden don't they? Gary. They don't need to use global nuclear war as an excuse. [emoji51]
  18. Here's an example of a pre tensioned system we set up to dismantle a dead/dying sycamore leaning over buildings with asbestos roofs. The tensioned line doubled as a guy line and floating anchor point, tied into the top of the sycamore, through the fork of a neighbouring tree and anchored to the base of yet another tree nearby. We used a 3:1 mechanical advantage system with pulleys and prussic fail to safes to maintain constant tension on the line. We then tied a prussic and pulley to the tensioned line half way between the sycamore and pine to give us a floating anchor point for a separate lowering line to the only viable drop zone. Took a bit of head scratching to start with but once it was up and running the job went really smoothly. Very tempting to just say "just cut and chuck", in these situations but just one mishap could have destroyed the roofs below costing £££s (busy garden centre with public nearby too) We were careful to calculate a very tolerant SWL onto the system. (Sorry for the long winded explanation)
  19. Ours is a slightly different model to most but ours works out around 65%. Flyers 20% word of mouth 15% repeats
