  1. Only the ones that choose it. Kind of like a referendum only the deal is fully disclosed beforehand. [emoji56]
  2. So say for arguments sake, we have another vote once we’ve been offered the deal by Brussels, and (of course) they give us a lousy one and the nation changes its mind and we vote to stay in the EU, what then? The prodigal returns to his fathers house and the father rushes out to meet him, embraces him, this is my beloved son who was lost but now he’s returned. The father weeps tears of joy, tells his 27 servants to put a royal robe on him, a gold ring on his finger and go kill the fatted calf for a banquet to celebrate his return!!!! But the older brother......... (I’ll leave you guys to figure out the rest of the story but unlike the original, I don’t think this one would have such a happy ending).

    I didn’t know TO’s came out to check 1-2m reductions [emoji41]

We’ve had a similar thing happen. We ended up walking away. We got a little bit of compensation but nothing compared to what the job was worth. You win some, you lose some.
  5. A lot of people voted out because we aren’t allowed to deport convicted terrorists, murderers, rapists etc... but instead we have to accommodate their families on benefits in swanky £million pound Hampstead houses. Because we have to pay £billions and £billions into pension schemes for unelected Eurocrats. Because our fishermen have to throw back perfectly good catches into the sea while millions of people starve to death. Etc.. etc... And now that we have voted to leave they are really showing their true colours. For remainers it seems it really is just about the money.
  6. So what news are we looking at folks? Personally I try and get the raw data before the various news outlets put their slant on it. Then I’ll look at a range of newspapers / apps to get a feel for what’s out there. Then I make MY OWN mind up. Firstly I get subscriptions to some think tanks such as: Chatham House. Uk mainly central politically. Gatestone Institute: USA right of centre INSS. Israel. Left of centre. Debka file. Middle East. Centre. Then I look at the news outlets. The Times. Right of centre The Express. Right of Centre. The Guardian. Left of centre. The Independent (sic). Left Jerusalem Post. Right of centre. Fox News. Right of centre. Breitbart. Right This gives a reasonably good scope of what’s happening and I get to make my own mind up without being spoon fed a particular narrative.
  7. I definitely get the Twitter thing. I’m surprised he’s allowed one to be honest... but then I wonder that maybe they are actually measured and scripted. they certainly get people’s attention. What a great tool in the hands of an accomplished operator. Especially if people take him for a mug. After all it is always best that your enemies underestimate you.
  8. And yet... Obama had all the attributes that you seem to Be espousing, but look at the carnage that threatens the world now. Syria..... he did nothing. North Korea.... he did nothing Iran..... he gave them $100s of billions plus a roadmap to being a nuclear power. I could go on.....
  9. Trump is far from being my favourite statesman but there are some things I like about him. His willingness to call things out, when others would rather leave things unsaid, lest they offend people’s fragile sensibilities. (in this case the ‘liberal progressive’ CNN champions of world freedom such as Hilary Clinton, Linda Sarsour , Maddonna.. and Sadique Khan [emoji849]) His willingness to confront tyranny and wrong doing on the world stage, even when it is costly. Of course there are men and women out there who would be more capable than Trump to stand in his shoes. But where are they? Only Trump stood up to be counted and was willing to make himself unpopular to say the things that needed saying (shock horror) and to try and take on the things that need doing. If he puts a few noses out of joint while he’s trying to do it then so what.
  10. I would disagree with this. So would Churchill, Nelson, Wellington and co I suspect. Knowing how to pick the the right fight and the methods of tactics and strategy are another thing altogether, so I would (maybe) concur on that one. The problem here is that Trump has got 8 years of Obama’s people pleasing, negligence and cowardice to try and sort out. Not an enviable task, given the stakes involved. His administration also has the Job of dismantling The Hezbollah narcotics infrastructure in the US. Another of Obama’s wonderful legacies.
  11. Sorry, my American wife told me Clinton did get impeached, but because he never inhaled his impeachment he didn’t get removed from Office. Apparently it has something to do with what the definition of “is” is. [emoji41]
  12. There was a much stronger case to impeach Clinton when he was in office but it never happened. [emoji56]
  13. Richard Branson our moral guardian eh?! What would we do without him. Sat on his private island telling us what to think...... thank you so much Richard. Apparently now in the US you can be diagnosed for psychiatric illnesses without being examined in person. For example if you are the POTUS and people don’t like your policies (and hairstyle) ‘progressive’ psychiatrists can accurately diagnose you from your tv appearances, policy decisions and twitter feed. A ‘leading’ Harvard psychiatrist has recommended Trump is involuntarily committed to an institution. Amazing what modern psychiatry is able to do......
  14. Try being a Christian (or a Jew) in Iran, that would bring another perspective altogether.
  15. One of my pet concerns.... haha more tea vicar?
  16. Reading about Trump having to make a choice on the Iran nuclear deal. does he.... 1. Continue with the deal, allowing the Iranian regime to grow stronger, and effectively killing off the recent protest movement until the sunset clause kicks in and Iran is basically free to produce nuclear warheads in 2025. Or 2. Walk away from the deal now and re-impose sanctions, thereby weakening the regime and empowering the protest movement, maybe leading to regime change, which would alienate him (even more) from the European nations who are now up to their greedy necks in Iranian trade deals. Also it would mean that Iran would probably start enriching uranium immediately (which they are probably doing anyway) not to mention the risk of Israel launching a pre-emptive strike. Not much of a choice.. Glad I don’t have to make it.
  17. On a lighter note..... I read today that Barnier and Co expect to still have control of British fishing grounds after Brexit. So let me get this straight... We will still get spanked for billions. We still have to abide by their legal system. (ECJ) We will still have to keep our borders open. They will dictate the terms of future trade. (making sure whatever deal we get serves as a deterrent to any other like minded nations) The EU still controls our fishing grounds.... etc.. What happened to Brexit? and why are we still trying to negotiate with them??
  18. You misunderstand me. I’m not advocating teaching The Bible in science class. I just happen to think that atheist scientists teach their own “religion” and “faith” in the classroom, the clue is in their frequent use of the words: may have..... could have.... was probably...... when teaching ‘science’ and advancing their own agenda. (and doing quite nicely out of it too)
  19. Slow day at work, Vesp?
  20. staying with the early blues theme
  21. you can argue it either way of course! but don’t take my word for it... [emoji106]
  22. Amigo! My gripe is not so much with the theory of evolution, i find it fascinating. what i really find so infuriating is that the Darwinist mafia have taken control of academia and the education establishment and shut down any opposing viewpoints. no questions allowed! reminds me of North Korea.
  23. Afternoon VI. Not everyone comes to the same conclusions thought, do they? Some people look at the (inconclusive) evidence and think quite reasonably that there are an awful lot of gaps and missing links for it to be classed as irrefutable fact. Unless of course you happen to make a living out of teaching it as such ... then you wouldn’t relish the prospect of people asking “awkward” questions and challenging the status quo. This is what is happening in universities across the world. The scientific establishment is crying out for a “reformation” much like the Roman Catholic Church 500 years ago. This guy puts it rather well...
  24. Hi Sime. It’ll be a nice change for sure, but I don’t think it’ll be much warmer. I’ve done work over there in the summer and it was hard, even with a siesta. [emoji41]
