  1. A reasonably agreeable difference of opinion,then. [emoji106]
  2. Precisely.., they can’t all be right. Not all of the paths lead up the same mountain
  3. You would have made a really good “spin” doctor VI (Forgive the pun)
  4. [emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523][emoji523]. I suppose we must have been very, very lucky to have hit the evolutionary jackpot then VI!
  5. Don’t forget to put a stopper on a bowline. Like Silky says it can get in the way, best to leave a bigger loop so the knot doesn’t touch the top of the ZZ.
  6. Which could be said of most politicians on all sides......
  7. We found one very small dry fb at the base this morning. No dieback in the crown, looked healthy. We removed a slightly smaller oak next to it a couple of months ago with massive fruiting bodies ionnotus dryadus and full of rot. The added exposure obviously was a factor.
  8. Surprisingly not so much. It came down about 4:30am The crown took most of the impact. I heard a crunch looked out the window and saw that it had gone. It’s not often you walk out of your front door and you’re on site. Like losing an old friend. Was my favourite tree.
  9. No snow but very windy.
  10. A very big oak outside our house came down in the wind last night, thank God no one was hurt and only minimal damage. Going to be busy today. To dark for pictures right now but I’ll post some up later.
  11. I’ll see your Black Death and raise you some Living Colour.....
  12. And there’s me thinking it was the choir at your Cathedral.....

    Spikes

Ally bashlins here. Keep thinking I might get some new pads soon. They are the most comfy out of everything I’ve tried. Never tried the Geckos.... Spikes are even more subjective than harnesses though...
  14. What about motomix Spud? We run all our saws on it because we have lots of people using the saws and before we brought premix fuel no one could remember who had mixed the fuel or if they had or when they had.... 2 seizures later we opted to run everything on motomix. Is it ok for a saw to sit on the shelf with the tank full of premix and then just start it and work it on that same fuel? In your opinion.. Thanks

    Cs39?

The likelihood is that he/she could ask you to perform all of your cuts on one single limb, which will mean a branch walk. Hope it goes well. [emoji106]
  16. Hands kept a blades length away if possible. Horrible things when they turn on you. I remember cutting down through the top of my thumb through the nail down to the bone while doing my CS40. I was about 60ft up an oak when I did it. The instructor asked if I wanted a first aid kit sending up? By the time he finished the sentence I was stood next to him with my glove full of claret. Quickest I ever got down from the tree..,
  17. Once you have identified where the needles are then there isn’t much chance of getting stuck by one. It’s the ones that you don’t see that can get you. As a reassurance, most diseases only live a matter of minutes outside the body so the chances of picking up the infection aren’t as great as you may think. Still pays to be careful though.
  18. It’s a sad sign of the times we live in and it’s getting worse.
  19. In that case I’m moving!
  20. Hope you heal up quick Mark. [emoji856]

    scenario

    TCD would love that!
  22. Keyboard player from “sparks” actually.
  23. That’s a very expansive question. I would be very happy to discuss it but probably best not here. The prodigal son story was just a bit of fun to take the Mickey out of the preposterous suggestion of a referendum replay. On reflection it probably wasn’t the best analogy, after the prodigal son came to his senses and realised that his father was a good guy and he was well loved back home. I don’t believe anyone could say that was how things are with the EU.
