    Jokes???

That’s Wicked! Apparently someone’s level of maturity can be judged by what kind of jokes they will laugh at..... I’m obviously not as far on as I thought I was, said wiping up spat out coffee. [emoji41][emoji33]
  2. Usually all this stuff (qualifications etc.) will be in the small print of a policy. Insurance is a competitive industry, they aren’t going to put obstacles in their own way of getting your money. In the event of big claim, when something goes wrong, you can bet that the insurance companies loss adjuster will be checking all of these things out. In the event of something going wrong where damage to property and personal injury are involved, anyone who has taken out an insurance policy and not held up their end by way of proper training, RAMS, LOLER etc..etc.. could find that they have been living in a fools paradise thinking they are insured. Same as a householder not doing his due diligence in checking who he is contracting to do the work. Buyer beware.
  3. Stumps were a bit high as well. TCD wouldn’t have approved!
  4. We faced the same choice and although most of our saws are husky’s we opted for the 880 on a 30” bar. If you are doing domestic work in this country most large diameter timber is likely to be hardwood oak, ash, beech etc. The 880 delivers more torque lower down the Rev range which tends to be more suited to hardwoods. (IMO).
  5. I’ve gone out there a couple of times to work. It doesn’t seem like there is an Arb industry to speak of. Certainly nothing like we have here. Hope it works out for you. [emoji106]
  6. Mark. Hope you’re healing up ok. Please pm or send me pics of your items for sale. I may be in the market for something [emoji41] (if I can persuade the mrs we NEED it). [email protected]
  7. Or migrants.
  8. Nice to see old trees being well managed like that.
  9. Bet the hand-sawing helped to keep you warm.
  10. We still have TO’s working in %’s round here. Be interesting to know the full story behind what happened.
  11. Nice, although I prefer this one from the city of peace and reconciliation.
  12. Tachyon for my mainline with a ZZ. Love it.
  13. I very much doubt it!
  14. Please accept my apologies then. I really enjoy these intelligent([emoji3]) debates and it really isn’t my heart to twist your words or arguments. I just need you to understand that I am right!!!! ??
  15. I don’t understand you sometimes VI... You criticise belief in an intelligent design origin to the universe and you call it myth and superstition. We need to meet up in person so we can have a proper punch up! [emoji856]
  16. I’ve never got on particularly well with the supplied Petzl stuff, although it’s quite firm it doesn’t seem to be very durable. I’ve been through two so far. I spoke with the Petzl rep about using other rope brands with the Zillon and he said Petzl don’t recommend it (!?!) the replacement rope is very expensive. I use a Marlow gecko split tail with mine and it’s perfectly fine (obviously) It doesn’t come with a rope diameter rating on the device itself (like the ZZ at 11.5 - 13mm).
  17. And yet, you use exactly the same arguments and yardstick to try and refute opposing worldviews and push your own views. That’s hypocrisy. If all you can do is resort to referring to the Taliban etc..to ‘prove’ that all belief in a spiritual component to human existence is bad, then why can’t I use the aforementioned nations to demonstrate the deficiencies of atheist ideals.? The simple facts are that mankind is clearly not evolving better morals by embracing atheistic beliefs as time goes by... and... Nations governed with atheist ideals have never fared any better than the rest of mankind. In fact, the opposite seems to be true. I’m going to leave it there now and wish you a nice weekend. [emoji41][emoji8]
  18. No,no, no! VI, The 20th C was by far the bloodiest century of all. Fact. The most brutally repressive regimes recently in the world have tended to be the atheist ones. N.Korea, Russia. China, Cambodia. FACT. A strange result from “scientific reason and enlightenment” wouldn’t you say?
  19. You’ll be pleased to know you’re not the first person to use the Beatles as a kind of moral influence. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.newsweek.com/how-beatles-inspired-charles-manson-commit-his-1969-murders-716938%3famp=1
  20. And people’s behaviour as a result has significantly improved? Civilised? We can kill and exploit people in much more refined ways, perhaps and be detached from it, but the basic problems with human nature remain completely unchanged.
  21. More links to dubious sources.. at what point do think that humans will have evolved out of their violent, selfish tendencies? You’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath. [emoji56]
  22. How has “it’s been shown” ? On the ‘evolving into better people through scientific understanding’ theory.... how come in the western world with our technology, medical scientific advances, etc... we’ve forgotten how to and stopped caring about the elderly and we are content to discard them into ‘care homes’ and stand by while they freeze to death in their homes. The sad fact is that our ‘scientifically advanced and evolved’ culture could learn a thing or two from more ‘primitive’ cultures on how to care for our elderly.
  23. So you regard the Beatles are some kind of moral reference point then? (Said whilst in the process of replying to a lengthy email!)
