  1. Hey Paul. I went to the Gym for the first time in 18 months yesterday. I enrolled on a ‘boot camp’ circuit training course at Pure Gym. Really feeling the pain today. Scary thing is... my IPhone must be listening to me whingeing about my muscles and joints aching cos it’s started bombarding me with adverts for stair lifts! Careful what you say when Siri/Facebook/whatsapp is listening. [emoji33]
  2. Yer I remember that Joe. Not exactly the response you would expect from a manufacturer (or rep) who presumably would like to win customers. Just as well Petzl didn’t take that attitude with the cracking issues on the ZIgZag.
  3. I loved the KASK but ditched mine because the screw mountings always worked loose, so I put locktite on the screws and then they snapped off. Shame cos it’s a nice hat.
  4. I know you have Mark and I have the greatest respect for you for doing it. I just wondered what are your views on how the PA and Hamas treat their own people? and how much of the fault do you think lies at their own door for the plight of Arabs (who incidentally do get to vote, are elected in the Knesset and serve as senior Judges in the judiciary so apartheid is stretching it a bit). If you want to see true apartheid you only have to look at most Arab nations. Personally I would like to see a two state solution but I don’t think it will ever happen because the Arab leadership only want the annihilation of Israel. This guy is a Palestinian Muslim and he has some pretty strong views on why things are so bad for the Palestinians. There are many other Palestinians who hold the same views but most of them are rotting in Hamas/PA jails. No one seems to want to campaign on their behalf though, it’s not very fashionable in the West because another narrative gets pushed. I’m sorry I’ve had to use an Israeli publication but all the Palestinian publications that have tried to bring this to light have been shut down. Apparently Abbas isn’t very keen on free speech. I feel sorry for the poor people caught in the middle who just want to get on with their lives. http://egretnews.com/2017/?p=2015
  5. Surprisingly he’s probably more so than Amnesty International by the sounds of it. ... http://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com/amnesty-cancels-jlc-meeting-in-protest-against-israeli-settlement-goods/ And this is the guy they banned. One of the only people at the U.N.HRC who has the guts to call out the hypocrisy and show it for what it is. (Worth a read whatever side of the fence you’re on) http://elderofziyon.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/algerians-answer-where-are-your-jews.html?m=1 Human rights campaigning isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
  6. Amazing.... they cut both complete sides off to get into it. Must have been determined. Look on the bright side mate..Save you buying a ‘no tools left in vehicle overnight’ sticker. Seriously though, Sorry for your loss.
  7. Mr Bolam is dead right. We did a similar job recently. The bank was really steep and wet, the only way to keep my footing was to tie into a nearby tree. We quoted it for a day and it took two. Every cut had to be hauled out of the stream on ropes. The tracked barrow would have been useless and would have probably ended upside down in the stream. Surprised no one put a price in though.
  8. In that case we really are in big trouble...
  9. Congrats Paul! Well done mate, you deserve it. [emoji106]
  10. Big 50! Nice one Paul, Happy birthday mate. Pm sent. [emoji106]
  11. Thanks Eggs.
  12. Excellent post. Getting your name out there so you are doing plenty of quotes seems to be the name of the game. That way you get more choice in the jobs you are looking at. The fewer quotes you do the more pressure there is to win the job which inevitably drives the price down. [emoji106]
  13. Thanks
  14. Thanks [emoji106]
  15. We’ve been asked to do some reductions over a single track one way street in the Midlands. The only way we can get it done properly is by fully closing the road. Can anyone recommend a good TM company in Bham? Thanks in advance.
  16. Went to see these tonight. Great atmosphere,
  17. Speaking from the the point of view of someone who has run a tree firm. There are jobs where hiring in a top climber for £200 + (usually includes travel though) makes sense. It’s all down to planning the work well and efficiently . It can help the newer and less experienced climbers aspire to a greater level. It’s not for every day but every now and then, hiring in a top climber on the right job for top money makes sense and has it’s uses.
  18. Badly hungover I’ve heard... he had too much to think again.
  19. Pm sent. I’m only down the road from you.
  20. You joined the Jehovah’s Witness’s?! Nice one [emoji51]
  21. Nice suit as well. Whilst on the subject of brilliant minds please allow me to share one of my favourites. It shorter than the Asimov interview.
  22. (My apologies Mark, I mistakenly thought at first he was just another rabid new atheist) watched it to the end but my internet is very poor so it was stuttering. Seems like a decent guy. Think I read a couple of his books way back, in prison I think. Makes some very good points, especially the ones about the charlatan faith healers. (Happens to be a pet hate of mine). Particularly in Christian circles. I would have liked to hear him venture a little further by saying that not all faith is irrational but that’s my philosophy, and maybe not his.? Thanks [emoji106]
  23. Isn’t it ironic how ‘irrational nonsense’ as he arrogantly puts it, is changing thousands of lives in a dramatic and positive way. (If you want to lump all theistic beliefs together then allow me to do the same with the spectrum of atheist ideologies) Which ideology is responsible for the most death and misery in the 20th C. ??
  24. [emoji846] [emoji41]?
