  1. I like the neatness of e2e. ‘Tis pricey though.
  2. The grippy-est hitch cord I’ve ever used is that blue Stein stuff, think it’s 8mm, comes in e2e lengths
  3. I get the poundshop glasses too. Keep meaning to go to the opticians but it keeps slipping down the hierarchy of things to get done. X 1.5 magnification is perfect for sharpening and doing LOLER checks.
  4. This thread should be re-named. Show us yer gripes .....
  5. LOLER and home made splices on PPE climbing ropes. CE marks on kit after Brexit.
  6. Nice set up Mick.
  7. Nasty. It’s easy to analyse after the event from a safe distance. Looks like he placed the pulley high up to try and get the piece to swing away from the house. I think of all the times when I know I should have climbed higher and taken smaller pieces but opted to cut bigger due to time, tiredness, fear, poor work positioning etc.. and cut and rigged bigger than I should have. This is exactly the scenario when a good groundie should step in and warn the climber off. Hope he was ok.
  8. Evil Trump kidnaps three ex-pats from N Korea. http://babylonbee.com/news/cnn-report-evil-trump-kidnaps-three-people-from-north-korean-paradise/ Trump betrays Iran over the ‘nuclear deal’ and causes explosions around the globe as liberal news outlets go into meltdown.
  9. The specialist told him that in the event of it not working (due to doing silly things) he would have to have some tendon removed from his leg and grafted in right up his arm, meaning he’d be out of action for a long time. Think the warning is working as the alternative sounds a bit bleak.
  10. My mate has just done a similar thing. He was told no climbing for 3 months. 6 weeks immobile then gradually introducing gentle movements increasing in intensity along with physiotherapy
  11. Nicely done Eggs. Been in similar situations loads of times quoting treework. If it’s someone elderly or vulnerable, I always ask if we can get their family/friends/support worker involved. Not only does it protect them but it gives you a measure of accountability and can sometimes help you to receive payment promptly. Having these standards in business helps forge a good reputation. Win win. [emoji106]
  12. Yeah, bears aren’t really known for a sense of humour...
  13. Always good to watch your work, Reg. Nice one for taking the time to film it and share it. Does filming your work slow the job down any?
  14. Yer.... rings a bit hollow now.. Theresa May, was never really going to put her heart and soul into fighting our corner.
  15. I see the ‘Lords’ have tied the governments hands behind its back so that they can’t fight for a decent Brexit (not that they seemed to have much spirit up to this point anyway) . The remoaners hoping that a second referendum gets forced on us. I wonder if they would be so amenable to a second vote if the result had gone their way.
  16. That’s actually not a bad sketch Matty.
  17. Fair play to him for posting. Good to get a reminder sometimes. Complacency is one of the worst enemies.
  18. Professional Indemnity cover is a must. Having said that, I’ve never heard of a LOLER guy being sued. At the end of the day we only inspect kit for, dates, condition and damage and set SWL’s for individual rigging equipment pieces. We don’t offer guarantees that equipment is not going to fail. Professional indemnity covers us for any potential mistakes we make during the course of our work.
  19. Agreed. Maybe he should be reported to Trading Standards for trying to pass himself off as a comedian. I recon they’d have a strong case.
  20. Are they the ones with the non-marking rubber tips?
  21. One of the highest murder rates in the world. Hardly a ‘paradise’ in the shanty towns. But it has its good bits.
  22. Or a 201t that cuts like a 362
  23. I wonder what a Spud ported one would be like?
  24. Wow. That is impressive.
  25. Last I heard about this saw was, there were no plans to mass produce it. What does it compare to weight wise and power wise Steve?
