  1. Class act Mark [emoji106] This is my cousins (and her husband on bass) band, I’m fortunate to get to play with them every now and again.
  2. I know. It’s like all Clintons ‘sins’ have been washed whiter than snow (at least by CNN and the media) Trump isn’t ‘likeable’ enough to pull that off.
  3. Haha! I’ll put the matches away then. [emoji106]
  4. I chose my words very carefully and very deliberately, I thought they described his manner perfectly. I think Krauss’ beliefs and theory’s ARE definitely a form of religion, his own hypocrisy makes him ‘fair game’ IMO.
  5. Trump is an easy and obvious target. More disturbing is how one of his predecessors gets a totally free pass. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/10/bill-clinton-harvey-weinstein-sexual-assault
  6. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/thewire.in/science/lawrence-krauss-sexual-harassment-allegations/amp/ Yet another atheist blah, blah blah.. This man loves to sanctimoniously pontificate against people of faith on matters of morality... and yet..,,,
  7. If you have an accident in the tree that results in death or serious injury and there is no rescue climber on site, you can pretty much guarantee that two things will happen. 1. The HSE will come after the employer with the full weight of the law. 2. Any insurer will move heaven and earth to avoid paying out. Like the previous post mentions, it’s going to be nigh on impossible for an employer to argue in court that the work has been properly planned without having a rescue climber on site.
  8. Here’s another satirical piece with more than a ring of truth to it. https://babylonbee.com/news/new-york-times-changes-name-to-the-double-standard/
  9. “Many a true word spoken in jest”

Corner plots tend to be the worst as contractors bury excess waste at the end of a ‘run’ of plots with a machine. Like you say, it’s pot luck. Hopefully you’ll get a clean plot.

If it’s a new build it’s likely to be rubble with 6 inches of top soil [emoji51]
  13. Why not spend some time getting used to moving around the tree with a prussik first. (its safe and dependable) then when you have gained some confidence progress to a Valdotain tresse with pulley then if you like that system, get a zig zag? That way you can learn about the different knots at a comfortable pace at the same time as improving your climbing skills. There are many hitches you can use with a pulley and they all have different characteristics. When it comes down to doing a rescue, simple is best. Knowing the different knots instinctively will be a massive help. Always remember the golden rule when experimenting with different systems.... low and slow! Happy climbing

Our landscaping guys have postponed all of their turf jobs until the autumn. Utterly pointless unless you want your garden to look like somewhere in the Sudan. Did some large ringing up with the 880 today and stacked the rings on my jack. (Been working in the office a lot lately,) I was soaked and done in by lunchtime. Take my hat off to anyone climbing everyday in this. Or dragging brash in chainsaw trousers.
  15. Haha, at least you’ll be able to efficiently repair the inevitable, initial fence ‘collateral’ that happens when you first start climbing. The better you get at tree work the more your fencing skills will deteriorate. [emoji51]

  17. Wise. You never quite know who’s looking in.
  18. Nice set up there. Love the tractor/chipper/trailer rig

  20. We’ve had similar happen. Trained people up, only to have them leave straight away, You can’t hold people captive but you would hope (maybe naively) that people would have some kind of honour. Our set up is different as we’re a charity but we ask guys to stick around at least long enough to get someone else through their training. Most of them do thankfully. I think anyone trying to pursue such a case would struggle to get it to stick in court.
  21. I use a wild country ropeman 2 on my TM bridge. I was warned off the mk1 as the teeth are really aggressive and have a tendency to sever the rope when shock loaded.
  22. Sorry to hear about this. Hope you can recover them.
  23. You sure about that ??
  24. If you want to see real apartheid look no further than any of the Arab neighbours of Israel. (Apartheid of Jews, Christians, Yazidis, Kurds, Armenians, LBGT etc..). How people can miss the glaring human rights abuses, corruption, and general wickedness of these nations and single out Israel never fails to amaze me. Talk about tunnel vision. [emoji849][emoji36]?
  25. Welcome Josh [emoji106].
