  1. You’ll find the exact address in Vespasians’s work diary......
  2. Not Bhangra , Bham. Auto correct!
  3. Global sales in Kings Heath Bhangra have one to hire. Reasonable rates and nice firm to deal with.
  4. That’s a cracking job, there will be hardly any leaves for them to clean up now and loads of light getting into the garden.
  5. DVSA guy told me that bulk bags should be strapped down. Friction isn’t considered a suitable means of securing a load.
  6. If you look at your previous Loler certificate for your rigging kit there will be a section for the examiner to record a SWL for that particular piece of kit. In the case of lowering rope (depending on which configuration) it should generally be 10% of the MBS as recorded by the manufacturer. All equipment used should be subject to PUWER., which basically means that the equipment being used has been designed for that particular purpose. (E.g PPE rope needs to have the relevant EN numbers and CE marks) It would always be advisable to buy a recognised industry standard rope that is designed for rigging. In a nutshell, when it comes to rigging rope, the all important bit is having the correct SWL worked out and using it accordingly, If you stick to that and keep your Loler certificates up to date, that should satisfy your insurers. Hope this is helpful.
  7. Just a case of finding one at the right time. Does anyone harvesting saw logs collect the tops and sell them? Selling Christmas trees and making decent money isn’t as easy as it looks.
  8. Usually yes..
  9. Waiting for a spruce to grow to 30’ just to harvest 8’ off the top wouldn’t make a lot of commercial sense. My mate planted 900 Nordman firs a few years ago and he’s still got a good few years to wait until he has a crop.
  10. Not surprised. We’ve ‘left’ Europe but we’re still not able to trade with the rest of the world on our own terms. Forget immigration, for me, the global market opportunities were the most attractive thing about Brexit. That and not having to be ruled by them. It’s hard to work out what we actually have gained apart from not having to worry about where we spend £40billion.
  11. Looks like we’ve been right royally grafted by the Europhiles. It looks like we won’t even get our fishing grounds back at this rate.
  12. The point was, that ten million people are about to starve to death, and people such as yourself are more bothered about nonsense.
  13. There are more pressing issues at stake, Mark, like the urgent need for the ECHR to pass legislation to uphold medieval blasphemy laws, Or the government conducting costly research into what constitutes a ‘hate crime’ then mobilising and equipping the police to be able to enforce it. Or banning clapping in universities. Etc.. ITN’s top story last night..... The humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen?? No, it didn’t make the cut, instead, an undercover report into why ‘gay conversion therapy’ should be banned.
  14. Well acquainted with this Kevin. Not ONE western government has spoken out against it, or offered her and her family asylum. No doubt because they don’t want to upset any of the proponents of that ‘peaceful’ religion that reside in their respective countries. 100’s of thousands of protesters baying for her blood have brought Pakistan to a near standstill. Already, people who have spoken in support of her have been murdered. The west has remained silent for a reason, and the very reason itself is an indictment against ‘that kind of’ multiculturalism. The European Court of Human Rights have just recently upheld the very same blasphemy laws in the EU. We live in a very sick world, and the doctors are continuing to mid-diagnose and prescribe the wrong medicine.
  15. After weeks of intensive coaching, Diane will only be answering in a vaguely anecdotal manner. (Hard facts and figures will be strictly avoided) What could possibly go wrong??! Did she just say she had met people who had just died in the Grenfell fire?
  16. I can see the original thinking behind it, however, every time (apart from once) I’ve seen a refresher being taken the assessor/ instructor has always looked at it as a ‘box tick’.
  17. Erbauer drills and breakers are probably the best value for money tools you will find.
  18. Not just nostalgia. They are reliable, bombproof and will outlast modern saws. That’s our experience of them.

I’ve been pulled there too. They have a ‘weigh in motion’ trap there.

The last time I looked it was 100km but that was on a limited/restricted hgv ops licence. It may have changed since then, or are you thinking of AG regs? https://movingon.blog.gov.uk/2014/10/06/changes-to-tachograph-rules-for-local-journeys/

Not if your only operating within 100k of base
  22. This. If it’s the same warranty as the 560.
  23. Me and the Mrs have had ‘dealings’ with Sandwell a few years ago. We enrolled on the adoption process. We thought that my past drug addiction issues and previous spells in prison may disqualify us from being accepted but they didn’t bat an eyelid. The problem came when we ‘confessed’ to being Christian. They told us that this was concerning to them and may prevent us getting accepted into the process. Welcome to Sandwell.
  24. Sandwell council run their police authority. Say no more. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/sandwell-council-accused-incompetence-corruption-14203995.amp
  25. If you cut it cleanly with a red hot Stanley or kraft knife blade to seal the cut ends and you can put a unique ID number on the piece that is un-marked recording when it was manufactured and when it entered service it will be fine. Most arb stores sell a rope marking kit. You will need heat to shrink the clear tube over the label.
