  1. Would suit first time buyer...... Someone without a clue, who thinks that getting mugged off is all part and parcel of doing business.
  2. Reluctant sale....... I’ve thrown ££££s at this piece of crap in the hope of putting it right, but it’s finally time to call it a day.
  3. MERRY CHRISTMAS! ARBTALKERS EVERYWHERE. [emoji318][emoji318][emoji318][emoji318][emoji318]
  4. Basement 5, Underground classic.
  5. Or this link. Great thread Mark.
  6. I just love the rich theology of this classic. The didactic quality of the lyrical content. I love Christmas [emoji319][emoji106][emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji318]
  7. I tried quite a few and settled on tachyon. No too much bounce and tends really well.
  8. Yep. Over a certain threshold I can be taxed by the US because I am married to an American, despite the fact I’ve never set foot in the place.
  9. Same if I’m looking at the different pieces. There’s nothing in the ‘rules’ that says you have to fail the zillon itself if it doesn’t have a rope. I asked the Rep , why could it only be used on their rope? Funny enough, e couldn’t answer me. They don’t , and couldn’t insist on the same thing with the ZigZag.

It’s always good to watch your work, Reg. are there many climbers out there that work at that level of skill?
  11. How the ‘eck would you know??
  12. The Petzl technical Rep guy told me that the zillion ‘must’ be used only with the Petzl rope supplied with it and it’s CE mark only applies when it is used with that particular rope. So from an insurance claim or Loler point of view it could potentially cause issues. Just thought I’d throw that bit of pedantic-ness in there to brighten your evening....
  13. I’ve had one for a few years now on a longish lanyard. Doubles as a second mainline when needed. Absolutely love it. I wouldn’t be without it.
  14. I can just picture it VI !
  15. Mr Fox! Good to hear from you. I just passed 12 years clean and sober, not that I count anymore. I need to get more focused in the gym again. I won a core strength competition the other day in Puregym. Held a plank for 8mins 20secs. The nearest to me was a ‘super fit, super toned’ guy at 5 mins 22 secs. Their faces were a picture! Climbing builds core strength like nothing else. Take care mate and have a good Christmas. [emoji106]
  16. Lightweights [emoji51]
  17. I did hear that the 562 has a beefier crank to cope with the 3/8.
  18. You know the saying... “the worse a tree surgeon , the better you get at fence repairs.” It’s when you have to learn how to (re) build conservatory’s you know its time to jack it in....
  19. Cut through the working end of my main line, (nearly new tachyon) while working my way up de-limbing a single stem leylandi. I always tie in twice, but this time rather than having my lines waist high and cutting above, I ignored that ‘still small voice’ in my head and put my line in above where I was cutting. Like I said, I always tie in twice, I’d probably be posting this from a hospital bed otherwise. I would say this mistake definitely qualifies as ‘stupid’ [emoji31]
  20. Excellent post Gary, thanks for taking the time to give an in-depth answer. [emoji106]
  21. You know you’re in West Brom when it takes 45 mins to drive from one end of the High St to the other. [emoji36][emoji31][emoji31]
  22. Hey Gary, What happens if after being side pruned, the tree becomes unstable with the weight only on one side? Or disease and decay entering into the tree through inter-nodal ‘boundary cuts’ Would there be any liability issues on the part of the contractor or would that fall to the owner?
  23. Would that mean out, out or out, in? Bit like a hokey-kokey kind of Brexit. Bitter, about how it’s been handled... who? Me?
  24. I’ve got a TPO map done in the 80’s of all the oaks and a few others at our place and it’s far from clear. I had to do a walk through with the TO to make sure we were going to be applying/working and removing the right ones. One of our neighbours informed the council we were illegally cutting down our trees. (We were doing ivy strips, hangers and large deadwood) Instead of prosecuting us he nominated us for a conservation award...
  25. Bad day at the office then...
