  3. 16mm will give you more options with regards to pulleys you can use. [emoji106]
  4. I know.... that should be enough to put anyone off..
  5. I just read that a young terrorist has been sentenced to 9 years in Germany for plotting to use a 12 year old suicide bomber to blow up a Christmas market, then to use his 17 year old wife to do the same thing. 9 years, probably be out in 4. It’s nice to see that the German authorities are taking this sort of thing seriously........
  6. I don’t think clergy earn very much at all. Certainly not Anglican clergy. I you have a USA mega-church on the other hand.......
  7. You could start with the Czech Republic which is the most atheist country in Europe. (By statistic). No religion whatsoever is taught in school, They still have the same basic problems and failures that beset mankind and the rest of the world.
  8. Not at all. I doubt if you would think that if you met me. I have a strong faith and I’m not ashamed of it, I’m not into forcing my opinions on people. I’m not some kind of religious nutcase. I know people who have given up drugs without faith. Not many but they are out there. I believe my faith gives me a depth of freedom and a richness of life that I wouldn’t have without it.
  9. I was 3yrs old when ‘massed gadgets’ was being performed in ‘68, so no, I never saw Emily play. I was into psychedelics during my punk days in the early 80’s. I hated the ‘stadium rock’ aspect of Pink Floyd but liked the Barratt era.
  10. The massed gadgets of Hercules (Saucer full of secrets)
  11. A long time ago. Not even Geldof liked Pink Floyd at the time, and I think the feeling was mutual. (I preferred them in the Syd Barrat era myself)
  12. So you think that Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad should be given the reins then? I wonder what that would look like....
  13. And secular humanism has been the answer to all of the worlds problems......
  14. Maybe this is nearer the real truth.? I’m sure he’s fine with Arab Israelis. (Apologies for putting words in your mouth, though)
  15. Now you come to mention it............
  16. Morning Tim, I read this the other day... rings very true. Not very fashionable, I know, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. http://www.inspiredbooks.com/Interview.htm
  17. Yeah, a real spokesman for a generation........ (yawn)
  18. I see that Roger Waters has labelled the Syrian ‘White Helmets’ a fake organisation and blames them for the recent US / UK / FR missile strike on Assad’s chemical weapons facilities. That’s very noble of him to say so from the comfort of his leather armchair in his Surrey mansion.
  19. ????? Nice one Mr J !!
  20. Morning Kev, did you get my PM?. Thanks Timon
  21. Best value sharpener there is. Great for reclaiming knackered chains. I keep a jar of oil and water with a toothbrush by the side of it and brush the oil and water on the cutters as I sharpen so it stops the edges case hardening.
  22. Was it SRT that sucked out all the joy of climbing for you Steve, and the real reason you jacked it in?
  23. I went to hear Andrew White, the vicar of Baghdad speak awhile ago. He had some interesting stuff to say. Very few Christians left over there now. He said he tried to get them to stay together but they were being slaughtered, and very few would stay in the end. He said when he arrived in the Middle East, Arafat was his sworn enemy and yet after awhile they became friends. I have a lot of respect for people like him. True peacemakers who live and work at the sharp end,
  24. I suppose it’ll save her having to lie to parliament.... like previous incumbents. I was an anarchist punk when the Maggie/ Reagan poster was released, Some things change and some things remain the same eh...
  25. That ones been done before.,,
