  1. You’ll be pleased to know you’re not the first person to use the Beatles as a kind of moral influence. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.newsweek.com/how-beatles-inspired-charles-manson-commit-his-1969-murders-716938%3famp=1
  2. And people’s behaviour as a result has significantly improved? Civilised? We can kill and exploit people in much more refined ways, perhaps and be detached from it, but the basic problems with human nature remain completely unchanged.
  3. More links to dubious sources.. at what point do think that humans will have evolved out of their violent, selfish tendencies? You’ll forgive me if I don’t hold my breath. [emoji56]
  4. How has “it’s been shown” ? On the ‘evolving into better people through scientific understanding’ theory.... how come in the western world with our technology, medical scientific advances, etc... we’ve forgotten how to and stopped caring about the elderly and we are content to discard them into ‘care homes’ and stand by while they freeze to death in their homes. The sad fact is that our ‘scientifically advanced and evolved’ culture could learn a thing or two from more ‘primitive’ cultures on how to care for our elderly.
  5. So you regard the Beatles are some kind of moral reference point then? (Said whilst in the process of replying to a lengthy email!)
  6. I think the native amercains would agree with you they were happier before Columbus turned & up hordes of europeans came & messed up everything for them. However immigration has always happened & probably always will, but funny how white immigrants are ok but not other ones, who don't look like natives. So are poles ok but not syrians or were the catholic irish ok? or how about the protestant scots in northern ireland send them home? Is there a sliding scale, or are only anglo saxon immigrants to OK? (They aren't for some locals here in Wales). Its this kind of thinking is why people are being masscared in Burma atm. The big difference here is that the Poles and Irish came and genuinely contributed to society and the economy. (Cultural enrichment if you like). They weren’t perfect and, yes they brought issues with them but they were issues that we as a society were able to absorb. They didn’t come and refuse to integrate or create no go enclaves, preach hatred towards their hosts or import smack on an industrial scale in order to deliberately damage society so that they could replace our culture and legal system with their own.
  7. Pretty vacant...
  8. I know the feeling well!
  9. Thankfully Iran are doing the decent thing and building universities in Syria now. That should improve things..........! http://english.alarabiya.net/en/News/middle-east/2018/03/01/Iran-announces-opening-of-another-Islamic-college-in-Syria.html
  10. Jihad,
  11. Fabulous track [emoji106]
  12. No, just let women choose. Heaven forbid anyone should ever have to live with the consequences of their actions. Life is cheap anyway. What does it matter. [emoji849]
  13. Adoption or fostering. Much better than killing an unborn baby. My mum was in that position. I’m so glad she never decided to abort me.
  14. When it comes to abortion, I think it’s wrong full stop.. However, in cases of rape etc.. I think there should be some kind of flexibility. The thing I find obscene is that organizations like Planned Parenthood use the ‘rape card’ to justify making $$$$$billions by murdering unborn babies (people) on an industrial scale. They have a very sinister past when it comes to stuff like eugenics as well. How many abortions are actually performed because of rape I wonder? More like inconvenience in most cases.
  15. What is it off? Sequoia?
  16. If someone presented this to me and I could see that it had been stored correctly and was in ‘new’ condition. I would look at: 1. Date of manufacture 2.. Date of first use. 3. Frequency of use. 4. Condition of harness, paying particular attention to the bridge and safety critical components. 5. Taking into account all of the above I may issue a certificate that goes (slightly) beyond the 5 years expiry. (In this case 3 years may be stretching it a bit far) Sometimes I think we can too quick to be like robots as Loler examiners just for the sake of ticking boxes. Conversely, If I knew someone was production climbing every day and their harness was getting hammered, I might ,for their sake, retire it before the recommended date. Just some thoughts......
  17. It must be really excellent then. I really like the 576xp, ours is on a 25”. Perhaps the 25” is stretching the saw a tad, but providing its nice and sharp it performs well enough. (Totally outclasses our 441) I am really liking the new 562 as well, I’ve had a few tanks through it now and it’s settled in lovely.
  18. Really enjoyed watching that! (Thanks for speeding the right parts up!) Where are you based? I only ask as we’ve got some lumps of oak here in Coventry that could do with milling.
  19. Nice! ........
  20. You must be the fastest domestic firewood cutter in the UK with your saws, Stubby..
  21. Billy Graham died this week aged 99. (He was a good man) spread a message of love and peace. RIP.
