  1. Hi Paul... Does that mean you’ll also consider an ARBAC standard for ‘midnight ring-barking’ as well as ‘economy topping’ services. If you can’t beat them may as well join them!
  2. Never heard about the olive oil one before.... although I have used warm drops to break up earwax when I had an ear infection (nice derail). Stubs are super annoying.
  3. Beal do a rope cleaning detergent. Most big Arb suppliers have it. [emoji106]
  4. And while you’re here, you couldn’t just............
  5. Each to his own.... but I’d prefer to wash useable rope rather than chuck it just cos it’s got sappy.
  6. Kit is washable, and sap and resin come out with warm water and soap flakes. Climbing on “old crappy rope” isn’t the best idea but you probably know that already [emoji849][emoji41] and in the event of a mishap would void any insurance you may (or may not) have. Just saying, like.... [emoji106]
  7. I really hope so.
  8. It’s not my favourite Arb job for sure but it helps pay bills and although it isn’t constant (thankfully) it pays more than climbing. .
  9. Ever thought of doing the LOLER course, Steve? Would be another good string to your bow. Well paid and very low overheads. You’d have no problem getting clients either.
  10. I know! That really made me chuckle. [emoji106]
  11. Next Sunday at 5:00 pm on BBC 1. My 4 minutes of fame.
  12. Hope you have great success in your new venture, Steve. I’m only doing a couple of climbs a month now. I’ve handed the running of our tree business on to the landscaping dept at Betel. I’ll be concentrating on PR and fundraising for our charity. One of my last climbs was an oak dismantle filmed by the BBC for songs of praise (makes a change from crimewatch and rogue traders) featuring my story, some tree work and some stuff about Betel and the work we do with recovering addicts.
  13. Some shots of a few jobs we are doing in Madrid Spain. Some dead and wind blown pines and a big elm that has been badly hacked so loads of dead wood to come out, I’m a bit reluctant to reduce any of the live crown as I don’t think it would cope well with it.
  14. Big Alder came down in the the recent winds across a small ravine and river. I tied in to a nearby tree as there were no foot holds on the banks. No access for machinery so everything was roped and dragged out by hand. Bit of a pig.
  15. Some more Yank punk. AAF’s tribute to Jacko.

Does the undocumented stuff have labels/stamps on? If so you can usually determine a manufacture date. Or in the case of most metal ware it will have serial and batch numbers stamped which can be checked with the manufacturer. (You might have to pay for the examiners time to check it) As long as you can determine what it is, CE marks etc, and date of manufacture/first use, most reasonable Loler examiners would be fine with it.
  17. Just the tenuous link to a certain “other” president will probably be worth a few extra signatures on its own, such is the outrage.
  18. [emoji106][emoji41]
  19. So even a bit of hedge trimming on the pavement would need notifying?? Or is it just tree work?
  20. Early start today, Mick?
  21. Chip Advisor?... [emoji294]️[emoji294]️[emoji294]️[emoji294]️[emoji294]️
  22. Awesome programme back in the day. Onion news is quite funny as well.
  23. Reminds me of this guy.
  24. Otter box defender. Ran over my iPhone accidentally in the car. The case saved the phone, not a scratch. I wouldn’t use anything else.
