  1. Can't you chisel the concrete out with a hydropack demolition breaker ( or a pneumatic one ). ?? Can't be any heavier than an 880.
  2. Very enjoyable video. I imagine getting the right tension in the strop on the sections to be cut is a fine art. Being able to take the sections straight from the cut to the trailer must have saved loads if time and effort. Thanks for posting.
  3. That's exactly what I do....

    Arb show 2015

We took our guys yo the show, 2 on Friday and 3 on the Saturday. Really enjoyed it. There was a really friendly atmosphere and lots to see and do. I'm thinking of getting a stand there next year to promote the work that Betel does among the homeless and addicted, specifically in relation to our Arb business and with a pig roast as well. It was good to meet Jon Mendip Logs, Paul Silky Fox , Wayne 5 shires, Maxwell Arb and his missus. Also we got to see Paul Smith AA techie and Chris Cooper -Abbs. Enjoyed the knot competition (bit slow this year but in training for next year ) it was good to watch the climbing competitions and be encouraged that although I'm not competition material I'm not doing too bad for a young codger.
  5. I enjoy the rigging side of things. Did our CS 41 tickets earlier this year so it's been cool putting it into practice.
  6. Good on you Mike. It doesn't take long to explain to most switched on, serious potential clients the dangers of going the "cheap" route.
  7. Nice one. I'm 50 in a few weeks... Was just scanning the thread to see who's illustrious company I will be in
  8. Saw you did quite well at the knot competition! The guy that won it in the end was rapid. !
  9. You're well looked after! My wife's in the US visiting family right now. I'm hoping for some goodies when she returns including one of Jerry Beranek's books.
  10. Was good to meet you and the missus, Max! Timon
  11. Nice one Paul, was good to meet you after all these pics and posts. Timon
  12. Hi Jon , was good to meet you at last. Got some climbing gloves, bolle specs and some "safe eyes" Just got back now. Timon
  13. You mean empty......
  14. Stunning... The early Celtic believers would definitely approve.
  15. Human forwarders
  16. Check this guy out.... Plays everything on his kit.
  17. Conifer smash and grab today. Not the most interesting work but a great bunch of guys, hard graft and beautiful day . Our biggest earning day so far
  18. Splices........... There's another big LOLER can of worms.
  19. My understanding of the regs/guidelines is no more than 2 strands cut side by side or 3 over the whole length of the rope (I can't make it out from the photo) If it's 4 strands cut then I would fail it.
  20. Circuits consist of different body weight excercises and weights Press ups, Burpees, sprints . V-sits, crunches . Various weight lifting reps. Etc.
  21. 30x. 20 seconds with 10 seconds rest . 10 different work stations- 3 laps Then 4 minute break Then another 30x. 20 seconds, then stretch off. Then go home and collapse.
  22. Since I started climbing and doing circuit training (tabata) it's all but disappeared I've found that keeping mobile is the key. I did try knee injections of hydrocortisone and anti inflammatories but they just masked it.
  23. It's not much when you consider the outlay for the machinery and it's maintenance etc..,
  24. Excellent post Steve, I can relate to that. Wish I'd taken up climbing earlier in life though... Got diagnosed with arthritis two years ago. Keep it at bay by going to circuit training class once a week.
