  1. If you are "on site" for a strict 8 hrs who is paying for the handling of arisings, tools maintenance, general yard duties, six weekly checks on HGV s etc..etc..?? Tree work doesn't begin and end "on site" This is why I am really reluctant to charge by the hour/day on jobs.
  2. If I inspected a SJ with a worn cam I would fail it but ask for it to be re-submitted with a new cam. I wouldn't put my name to a device that was slipping. PPE rope (or most textiles) generally has a working life of five years from date of first use. If there is no traceability it would be difficult for an examiner to pass it fit for use. Hope this helps.
  3. I'm impressed.... I'll have to look that up.
  4. Thanks Tony. Appreciate you getting back. Timon
  5. Looks like a good, compact, useful kit.
  6. Check that your saw is covered by the free Stihl upgrade.... We got ours done cos it was very boggy. It's much better now
  7. Derbyshire is the nearest I know Jon
  8. Nice.... In Brabus colours too!
  9. Many happy returns Jon hope you have a good one mate! Timon
  10. Same here... Zigzag most of the time. Hitchclimber on connys or when working tight to a stem to save the ZZ from cross loading. Prefer to use an eyetie hitch on the hitch climber... doesn't bind up but grips every time. I was going to get a spiderjack but spoke to a few people who said it was easy to knock the lever whilst working, resulting in a sudden drop so I decided against it.
  11. Hi Jon, I suppose it comes down to wether they can afford to or not. I was thinking of looking into a pitch for our lot (BetelUK) next year. We have a cafe and music stage at a big Christian festival in Lincoln (The One Event) but we have to pay for that and it is expensive. Concessionary rates would be good. ARBTALK should certainly get a free pitch on the strength of Steve's contribution to the industry IMO. Timon
  12. Now you're talking!! The world was a much better place when we over-engineered everything
  13. How would the ever shrinking tranny engine and dual mass flywheel cope with that lot I wonder?
  14. We've just bought a ferris zero turn mower. It's a good solid machine. We also have a couple of Toro machines. A small ride on and a walk behind. We haven't had any problems with them. Hydrostatic drive (zero turn) mowers are definitely the best for mowing banks IMO.

Just as well the tranny has 5 ton springs
  16. Condolences to Martins loved ones and friends. Very sad.
  17. Our guys ship a 40' container from the Netherlands to the UK a few times a year. it costs £1k approx.
  18. Which is why the dual mass flywheel was invented. Stops you putting any real weight on the truck. They were only really designed to run unladen.
  19. Thanks mate.
  20. Proper truck. Not like the disposable plastic crap that gets churned out over here.
  21. Nice one Dave! Will the 0.7mm difference be an issue with my zz? In terms of grip and wear on the device? Thanks mate Ti
  22. Does anyone have any experience climbing on this with a zigzag Mk 2? Needed a new rope so one of the lads picked this up for me. I was on Yale Limelite 11.7mm Would like to hear people's experience on it good and bad. Thanks in advance.
  23. Flyers, word of mouth. Repeat customers. We also get quite a few people come up to us while we are working and ask us to give them a quote.
  24. Hi Jon, looking forward to meeting you there at long last! There's a few of our lot going on the Saturday. Possibly looking for a special deal on a Husky 395xp and some assorted bits: Stein RC rigging bollard and a whoopsie sling. Chains and PPE stuff etc... See you there, mate (Saturday) Timon
