  1. http://www.thenewamerican.com/culture/faith-and-morals/item/21346-cecil-the-lion-ranks-higher-than-planned-parenthood-s-baby-holocaust
  2. Came across this news article explaining how the killing of a lion has caused more outrage than the horrific scandal at planned parenthood. We truly live in a very mixed up world. Very sad.
  3. Another vote here for the 560... Great power to weight ratio and very nicely balanced.
  4. Great replies guys. Thanks
  5. That's just what I was thinking.... The difference between performing a rescue in a sterile, contrived situation and having to perform one after a serious accident in a tree must be like chalk and cheese.
  6. Just wondering...., do any of you guys out there practice aerial rescues on a regular basis? Have any of you had to perform this in a "live" scenario and what advice would you give to others who haven't. Thanks in advance. Timon
  7. Stuffed into a bag every time. I did learn to coil a rope but the bag makes much more sense.
  8. Similar situation to us Bob. We send all our arisings to one of two places that process arb arisings that are on the doorstep. Now and again we will sell the odd load of logs but like you we can't afford to go too far out of our way. There's no way we could justify investing in the equipment to process. The sums just don't add up. If we had problems filling our diary then maybe we would have to look into it, thankfully we keep busy with trees. Timon
  9. We couldn't make firewood/logs pay. Too busy doing the actual trees. Fair play to you Bob.
  10. Same here..... It's hard to con an honest man...
  11. I worked in a factory years ago where a guy did just that. He only ever spent Sundays at home. Looked like a pretty miserable existence
  12. Would be good to get a recce climb together in the midlands sometime.
  13. Precision engineering......
  14. Tranny cab on a mog chassis..... Almost sacrilege
  15. Great video Jesse. Enjoyed watching the different techniques. Thanks for sharing
  16. Hi Richie Well worth persevering with the ZZ IMO . I've had mine nearly a year now and I love it. I've put my hitch climber on my side strop with a VT. It's a great combo.
  17. Or set them on the roof of the van, as long as they've still got the rubber feet on its fine.
  18. She's reading this and laughing at her new name!
  19. Agreed Rich, but my sugi bar is already looking well used, the lettering has almost gone now..,
  20. You can buy specialist needle stick proof gloves. I seem to remember they cost about £150 a pair. You can get large sharp bins through local chemist or local needle exchange. Charge for the service as appropriate. If it is a common occurrence and there are lots of needles then your boss/director has a legal and moral obligation to safeguard the workforce.
  21. Don't you think our chipper gets enough stick already

    Morals

In this country people are taught the art of helplessness.
  23. Lovely October day here in Brum Jon.

    Morals

I do a lot of work with recovering addicts. I was one myself which is why I have a passion for helping others escape from the clutches of addiction. I have come to learn that making someone comfortable in their addiction is definitely not a good thing. It was only when I had lost everything and everyone, had squandered every resource and hit absolute rock bottom that I really got serious about turning my life around. The biggest favour my family did for me was shut the door on me. (This was after they had tried everything else to help me). If you continually keep bailing an addict out when they hit crisis point, they never feel the full effect of the consequences of their actions. Current government and medical policy is to "maintain" addicts and make them comfortable. So much so that it has become a career/lifestyle choice for many. Why should people want to change when everything is put on a plate for them.
  25. 4 inch treated posts set vertically with postfix behind the sleepers. Timber lock screws to fasten them together. Always over-engineer everything, especially the depth of the post holes. If seepage is likely to be an issue then drill some weep holes through the sleepers.
