  1. Sorry Grandpa... My humblest apologies. Incidentally/co-incidentally my colleague just rang me and told me he is purchasing a long length of prussic cord and 10 dmm revolver krabs so that we have a designated speed line kit. We will make the loops long enough to be slung over one shoulder whilst climbing so that they don't tangle up on the harness. We will post some pics of them in action next week.
  2. A souped up 346xp ??
  3. I'm probably teaching granny to suck eggs here methinks...
  4. Depends why they have been relegated. If a krab has been relegated from PPE to rigging it still needs to function correctly. Here's a link to the current rigging research HSE document. (If it works) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=rigging+research&gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=YLLNVbazOaa27galvqSIBA
  5. When we did our CS 31 rigging course earlier this year the instructor had made up a speed line kit, the slings were large prussic loops tied with double fishermans knots and the Krabs were DMM revolvers. It was the Rolls Royce of speed line kits for sure.
  6. Finally, you've spilt the beans!! Mines still in one piece and I love it, but should it ever break, are these parts available for all 540's ??
  7. I thought toffee would be quite tough. After all they make the transit duratorque out of it...
  8. I thought it was Kleenex and spit but hard cheese makes much more sense
  9. Plastic insert in the cover has got very hot but still functions. Perhaps a muffler mod is the way forward.
  10. Band has snapped right on the end so no wonder it couldn't be noticed
  11. Things going well mate, apart from the saw. It's only a brake problem so not the end of the world. Thanks mate.
  12. Hi Eddy, Spark mesh was taken out at purchase over 12 months ago. I used it on a really hot day and worked it really hard not long ago. It was hard to pull after that so I stripped it not long after to clean it and not realising what would happen I started it without the cover and brake on and the clutch flew off Been waiting ages for new parts so left it at local dealers. Just got it back, started beautifully but the brake isn't engaging. The plastic cover is quite melted. The brake mechanism seems to be Working ok. Thanks
  13. We're laughing all the way to Lidl (well he's not but I am). What colour are the trousers? Mrs Ti.
  14. Don't know if anyone has come across this but the plastic casing that contains the chain brake mechanism has melted and the brake band doesn't engage. Just had a new clutch fitted so I'm surprised that the dealer sent it back like this. They can't have noticed it. Does anyone have any ideas why it might have happened? I don't want to just replace the parts only for it to happen again. Thanks in advance Timon
  15. We're doing some yew in the next few days. I'll PM you. You'll have to get it milled yourself though.
  16. Hope it works out mate, whatever you decide.
  17. You're welcome mate. I remember how chuffed you were when you landed the job.
  18. One of the trials of working life is "difficult people" they are to be found in many firms, certainly on every construction site I've ever worked on and in many working environments. When you get "difficult people" in leadership over you then life does become very challenging. Being able to deal with these situations with integrity and self respect can be a real tightrope but in doing so we develop our own character and skills that can only be learned in these difficult situations. It may be worth sticking around Jammydog... In management, people that aren't good at their job tend to have a limited shelf life.. Sooner or later they get found out. Remember mate, the cream rises to the top... (The scum gets scraped off) Hope things work out for you. Timon
  19. My wife has asthma which sends her into coughing fits. It's really nasty. She's got lots of food allergies which kicks her asthma off. She has to be really strict with her diet to help combat it. The damp weather over here doesn't help either. I feel for you mate.
  20. If you've still got some Tarmac left over from the other job. Can you quote me to do my living room with what's left?
  21. Welcome back Paul, glad things are going well for you.
  22. We have a heavy duty reciprocating Breadknife that we hire out to other firms from time to time. Sounds like just the kind of tool for this job.
  23. Fabulous work..
  24. If you liked the 550 you'll LOVE the 560
  25. Heard of one firm snapping a line and the end got fed into the chipper.. (No.. It wasn't us ) I've pinged a couple.
