  1. I seen this design on an old thread here and the missus really liked it so I've turned these two from oak joinery off cuts I was given. Finished with tung oil as that's what the guy who gave me the wood said to use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Definitely gonna try that. Brownie points to be had there haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Excellent. That must have took some serious hours of labour Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I'd be interested in a bit of this, but I can't take it all. How close to Salisbury are you Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  6. I doubt I'll change that either haha. Probably just cut the panel so the light switch can be screwed in
  7. I was having a play with the lathe this morning when the start switch decided to stop working. It wouldn't stay closed so would only work while my finger was on the button. Had a rake around the tubs and found a solution Back in the game haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I keep hearing about this on the radio and have asked myself the same questions. The radio said he was 79 years old. How could someone pull a knife and use it over something so minor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Rain has not stopped all day in mid Hampshire. I'm pleased the wife had the sprinkler on last night haha. On the plus side the water butts are full
  11. Just gonna jump on board this thread, where do you find soft soap. I looked up a local garden center and could only buy a bottle of premixed stuff. Everything else mostly had permethrin in it. I wanted something more organic when my apple tree (along with the most of the garden!) was infested with black fly.
  12. That's stunning
  13. Blunt haha
  14. Hopefully I'll get a chance when I've got time off work in summer cheers Steve. This is vid I meant
  15. Ah yeah. That's what I'm doing. Maybe I needed to keep going to get the tears out. I watched a good video by FineWoodworking channel on YouTube that shows the different ways chisels are used and how catches happen if you get your angles wrong
  16. I used a round scraper to finish. Is a shear scrape a different technique. I'll look into it on YouTube
  17. Still only get one image per post for some reason
  18. Managed to finish another bowl this weekend. It's a piece of what seventhdevil believes is tulip wood. Less tool in marks and I'm happier with the bottom of the inside than on my first one but still getting tearing. I also think the foot is too big
  19. All would be artic loads haha. I'll have a look down and see what I can get though. It's being cut now so will be very sappy. What's the best thing to do with it to stop it spoiling
  20. Woodland management going on at my back gate and they're removing all the invasive rhododendrons and laurel, and thinning out the sycamore as well. Is it worth trying to get any of it for turning or is it best left to firewood. Thanks
  21. Absolutely brilliant is right. That is craftsmanship
  22. Do you want it sold job lot
  23. Unfortunately screw fix won't deliver the liberon and I can't collect this week. The rustins one is one of the popular ones on eBay I'll get that ordered. Thanks
  24. Quite a price range on eBay for Danish oil. Is it a case of get what you pay for. Or is oil, oil and you're paying for branding. Thanks
