  1. Straight out of the Highway Code on gov.uk site Overtake only when it is safe to do so. You should: - give way to oncoming vehicles before passing parked vehicles or other obstructions on your side of the road. So you're dead right john Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Room to add more john if you get the bug haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. 40x40 for six birds is more than enough john. You could half if and it would still be good. But if you've got the space the more the better. You'll get less bickering and the grass will survive longer lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Good link. Thanks billhook Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Theres a six foot fence around our garden, not dug in at all and a fox has never come into the garden in 5 years of keeping hens touch wood. The other side of the fence is woodland and within 10 meters theres a massive earth that has fox and badger. We have dogs loose in the garden all day so the scent will be about and i sling rabbit guts over the fence for them. If they're not hungry they won't take risks. Thats the theory anyway
  6. Have you had problems with fleas from the hedgehogs if your dog is in contact with them. I would happily give a place to a couple in my own garden if fleas or worms arent going to becaome a constant issue. Never see them round here
  7. This is the wrong thread for me but looks like it might go cheap if it's any good to anyone http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=201400047347&globalID=EBAY-GB Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I'm gonna steer clear of a big roughing gouge until I start doing something other than bowls (if I do). I might look at a bigger bowl gouge for the roughing but I'm in no rush for that I'll just keep watching eBay. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Not having the bejeezus scared out of you is a worthwhile plus point Dervish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I think that's the idea. Give people a reason to maintain healthy numbers of these animals. If they were trying to make their money farming then the big game would be considered pests and habitat would continue to be destroyed for crops and livestock. Unfortunately Africa is mostly very poor so there's not much love for anything that costs them money Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A lot of these hunting trips are organised in managed reserves. The animals are selected as part of the management of the population and a decent cut of those big fees go back into the conservation projects and anti poaching patrols to protect the high risk animals such as elephants and rhinos. There's definitely two sides to the story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ok. At the minute I'm using a sorby 1/2 bowl gouge for almost everything. I was thinking I might be giving it a bit of a hard life Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. That's crystal Steve haha. Logrod I'm with you there. I can't think of a logical reason for not using a roughing gouge on a bowl. It's just for rounding the piece to start off so doesn't matter what it's going to be when finished. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Am I correct or the website mate Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Am I right in thinking a hefty roughing gouge somewhere between 1-1 1/2", would be the quickest tool for rounding off square and odd shaped lumps of wood before getting the bowl gouge out. One tool sellers website I was looking at said roughing gouges should never be used on bowl projects? Cheers, Mick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Every day's a school day haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Ok thanks. Is it possible/probable that I've been calling cherry laurel rhododendron Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Well I know they're cutting that in the area but I thought rhody had smooth dark bark. I could be completely wrong though lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not great photos sorry but them leave are about 3-4 inches long I didn't have a knife on me to clean up the end grain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Ok I'll be that guy. What is it lol. I'm gonna blame the small image on my phone haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The stop was part of the same sealed switch unit. The latching circuit had failed so I had to hold the on button. Now the only switch on the machine is what I've fitted so it's like a light switch. Not exactly an emergency stop but it's in the same place just instead of two buttons it's a single switch if that makes sense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Don't intend to leave it loose. As said earlier the hole will be enlarged for it to be secured in place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I like the. Treesrus especially the volcano shaped one. Ghettoblaster thanks for the advice mate. That's the last thing I want happening. I better have another look at them before they're used
  24. Thanks tony. I cut two pieces the same size when I was doing the second one, so I'm hoping to be able to turn a third which will match close enough to be called a pair haha. Then will probably give the first one to the guys wife who gave me the wood as she's already said she really liked it
  25. It is a 240v outlet. And there is an RCD on that supply as well. There are no bare wires exposed behind if someone did decide to poke there fingers around, although the only time the lathe is turned on at the wall, I'm stood at it. My kids know that dad's shed is not for playing in.
