  9. I'll have a proper look Steve but I reckon it's all about 20mm thick. And I'll have a measure to see what I can fit in the car without breaking it. It's a hearth and fire surround so there's quite a bit of it. I'll take a pic of you want so you can see the colours of it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. That makes two of us haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. Don't know really. I've stored everything as blanks. Some I can see are better but sometimes I choose a poorer piece of wood for practice. I've just finished work for a couple of weeks so I should make an effort now to get some better ones roughed out Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Been a while since I finished a bowl. Turned this bit of birch that had split badly. Considered getting some resin and filling them but decided it wasn't worth spending the money on it lol. Finished with Annie Sloane soft wax that I pinched off the wife but i quite like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Not heard that trick about the white spirit mate thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. A mate told me to linseed it but that would make the living room smell like a chippy lol. Danish it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Do you ever thin Danish down for an initial coat Steve Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I finally decided to sand the oak mantel piece back to natural today. But I'm after a bit of advice on the best treatment for it. I've got Danish and pure tung oil to hand but don't mind buying a bottle if something else is more suitable. Thanks in advance Before After Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah for once haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My lathe seized up at the weekend but I was given the go ahead to strip and re adjust the bearing without affecting warranty so I got it sorted today back up and running good as new. And as I've just been bought a long hole auger for my birthday I decided to turn a quick handle for it as a test run Nothing flash but up to the job. Good practice run for the light pull project in my book though Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Awesome project mate. Especially the ingenuity turning the first hub with a router! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
