  1. The felling cushion was fitted to three models, the 444 the 154 and the 162, normally had heated handles as well and were FG machines, there was a test machine a 181 with a much larger bag for the fire brigade but I guess it did no catch on, the biggest issues is always the pipe blocking with carbon if the felling cushion was not used.

All Husqvarna machines have a part throttle, either a manual button to lock the throttle, or a part opening via the actuating of the choke control.
  3. The pump is not adjustable.

    Husky e 245

May be something very simple, the part throttle lock on the carb stuck, just make sure the throttle is going back to the idle position by pushing back manually with you finger, it should go back and rest on the idle screw on the l/h side of the carb.

Depends what your interpretation of weak spark is, they work off speed of rotation so you may not get a big blue spark like a points and condenser system, I assume it does not start? normally if there is something of a spark they will go, if it’s not starting it could well be something else. 0.3mm air gap and 0.5mm plug gap.
  6. There is no mark 11, it has been updated a little as per the mods on the 560, there is nothing to stop you putting the 555 firmware onto the 560, I did do it once, the idle seemed much stronger, and the revs were lower.
  7. I have seen this before, take a file across the face of the chain brake cover where it sits against the bar, you may find it is not flat, failing that as was previously said paint in the groove of the new bar, back in the days of the 44 we only ever had .325 058 gauge, there was no 050 gauge, good little saw, just watch out for splits in the bellows of the fuel hose.
  8. There is a bit of a technique to it, they are tight to clamp together, I use a pair of internal circlip pliers, you could use some thin nose mole grips, I find if you use a pair of pliers it does not work, you need to put the jaws into the curves of the clip, not the ends, so when you compress it you can see the hook slide under the eye, there is a fair amount of force required, it’s hard to explain not being there to show you.
  9. So is it true?
  10. I have it on good authority that the Husqvarna fuel is much purer than Aspen, I believe Aspen is made from different blends, we used Aspen until the Husqvarna fuel was made available, I am convinced there were quality issue where certain containers of Aspen would not work properly, machine hard to start and general poor running.
  11. I think its very likely, try the Husqvarna fuel i am sure it will run better.
  12. There is no issue with spare parts for the 350 very good semi pro saw, so well worth spending money on.
  13. The heater element is sandwiched between the filter housing and back of the car, there is a double connection from the generator, one to the carb element the other off to the top handle, you can disconnect here, then remove the element, then remove the thermostat from the top of the carb, i remove all the wiring, but this means dismantling the heater switch on the handle.
  14. Spot on, i always do the same
  15. Power cutters work in the most hostile environments, used by operators who have no mechanical sympathy, filled with any dirty can they can find regardless of what is in it,diesel, water etc, they fit blades incorrectly, blades with the wrong bore size, on top of the flanges instead of between them and any other variation, so there are limits to how much we can do to combat poor operators, we have centrifugal air cleaning, large paper element filters, compensator carbs, double lip crank seals, sealed starters, sealed bearings in the drive drum, extended life fuel filters, and oil guard, the oil guard system monitors the colour of the fuel passing into the carb ( oil guard oil is a golden brown ) if it does not sense the oil, or the mixture is on the lean side it will retard the ignition causing it to stop revving, back to the paper filters, we did have an oil filler sponge primary filter and a smaller paper filter, however operators and dealers were washing them out and not re oiling them so they were doing nothing, a larger paper filter was then introduced, the filter can last up to a year in normal operation without being touched, even when completely blocked ( they weigh 3 times there original weight ) they will not allow dust through , keep removing them to check their condition just breaks the seal between the filter and the housing which eventually will allow dust to pass underneath the filter, as for using an air line on a paper filter, the paper is obviously porous enough to allow air through but tight enough to stop dust , when air is blasted through it the pours in the paper open up which then will allow small particles of dust to pass along with the air into the engine, so to be honest i do not really care what people do with their air filters, just do not blame the quality of the machine for their mistake, welcome to my world of warranty.
  16. Did you get the oil guard machine? Since its introduction we have seen cylinder sales drop like a stone, the K770 is without doubt the best power cutter on the market today, don't just replace the filter as a matter of course, leave it until completely blocked, then remove and replace it, the compensator carb will handle a near completely blocked filter, removing filters disturbes the seal, and as for using an air line on them, never, however please carry on blowing the Stihl filters out as this will help with our new sales of 770s
  17. With a new intake boot there should be no need to use any sealant, maybe there was a need with the old plastic style clip but not with the metal clip.
  18. The weight was an issue, the composit top handle is an issue, the balance due to the generator under the flywheel, I do not think it is high on there priority list, there are other projects more pressing, but I still keep asking.
  19. I am still pushing, maybe it will be easier on the T540i
  20. And that my freind is why I am a service engineer of 42 years and you are an idiot!
  21. There is no reed valve in the cylinder, if it soaks the plug before it can fire then concrete dust has scored the inlet seat in the carb, if there was any sign of concrete dust under the paper filter it will have cylinder wear, by good compression what have you checked, concrete dust and fuel mixed and entering the cylinder is lapping paste and will remove the cylinder plating and erode the piston skirt and ring, other that that they are not the best power cutter out there when new, you should never clean the paper filter or blow out with an air line, this will open the pours in the paper and allow dust through.
  22. The only negative things are, you need to be carful with the under side of the top handle, this is where the heater element runs Nick it and no more heated handles, with heated handles unfortunately you usually get a heated carb, something you do not want, so I normally disconnect it, as they are usually classed as a cold country saw you may get a very open air filter, but on the whole a nice option to have.
  23. Where in the operators manual does it say you must use Aspen or your machine machine will not last, your carb is going to block your diaphragms are not going to last? how many manufactures recommend the use of Aspen fuel? Husqvarna?Stihl? no because they produce there own fuel that they know the oil in it is what there machine requires, then we get onto the price of this stuff, it is completely beyond me how any person using a saw for a living could justify the cost, ive heard all the crap about working it into the price of the job, ridiculous, as for having to adjust the carb to run on it, what about emissions? you hammer on about how good it is for the environment but recommend richen the carb, higher fuel consumption higher emissions, as for any machine will run fine on it not true, we had plenty of Briggs engines and Honda engines that did not run well on it, we had 550xp seize on it and all you get is it cant be the fuel must be the saw and all the excuses that go with it. On a side note what you did to Gary was shit. Over and out, don't want to comment on this again.
  24. Lets hope he doesnt get any of that extremely potent fuel then! Priceless.
  25. Can you please let us know the model of machine in question.
