  1. Will be interested in seeing reviews of this saw, especially for milling.
  2. Think they need you in their factory 🙂
  3. Just a quick update - I did actually email Husqvarna UK with the pictures of the saw. They responded very quickly and said "this is not something we have had any reported issue on, however it does look a bit odd, it could be that the cover is badly moulded. It should fit snuggly to the base where the clip is" It seems, from the responses on here, and my enquiry with the supplier of my saw, that there are lots of others around that look the same, so obviously a quality control issue in the factory where the mouldings are made. I also know it isn't probably much of an issue in reality, unfortunately I tend to notice things like this, things like household sockets being out of level, etc etc, right nuisance sometimes. 🙂
  4. Thanks for taking the time Mark. I have looked closely at some pictures/youtube videos online and there are examples of better fitting covers, but as you say it's probably a batch that aren't quite right. Bit weird though, as everything else on the saw is very well made and fits together perfectly. I do wonder if some earlier ones did not have the problem? It's looking like there is nothing to be gained from returning it and ordering from elsewhere.
  5. No flack from me, if I use them at all, I only use impacts to undo bolts/screws on machines etc. Just too much risk in over torqueing with impacts in my view.
  6. That all looks normal. Does it still run on?
  7. Alignment looks ok as in front to back (clutch fully inside drum). But it doesn't look very central to the drum, unless its the photo angle. Looks like it is virtually touching on the right bottom side and a much bigger gap on the left top. Could that misalignment be causing the catching and run on? I can't see what would cause that unevenness though, unless a part has been manufactured wrongly, but surely that would cause terrible vibration?
  8. Thanks so much Mark, look forward to hearing from you.
  9. The supplier has said the other one they have is the same, but will take it back for a refund if I want. Has anyone else got a 572XP, and does the casing look the same as mine or is it tighter/better fitting? There's no point me sending it back and ordering from elsewhere if they are all like that. Thanks for your help.
  10. I meant potential for dust getting into the filter area through that gap. Also, should be right on a brand new expensive saw.
  11. I bought it online and had it delivered, so just wanted to see if anyone else's saw is the same or if mine is not right. Haven't used it yet as I will try and return it if it's not how it's meant to be.
  12. Great saw, I have a 350 that I bought new in 2007, has done loads of work and is still going strong. Looking at the pictures, I would give it a really good clean up and try and get it running. Really nice saw to use, just feels right.

    which pole saw

I got the Dewalt 18v battery one, used it for a few hours now and seems really good. Fewer moving parts to go wrong as the brushless motor is up with the chain on the head. The handle end just has the battery and trigger. My only gripe is that the pole is a little more flexible than I would have liked, but I don't know if that's common to all pole saws. It cuts well.
  14. Just bought a 572XP, looks great, but I noticed the top cover (air filter/cylinder cover) does not align very well to the plastic below it on the back right hand corner. It's quite a step, you can certainly feel a sharp edge when you run a finer over it. Not that that's an issue really, more worried about dust and dirt, and if its faulty. Trying to decide if that is normal/right, or have I got one that's not quite right? Was not packaged very well for delivery. See photo. Thanks for any help you can give.
