  1. Not used the logsol but you can get ripples like that with an Alaskan cutting to fast/pushing to hard @Rough Hewn knows the logsol mills so probably more qualified to help
  2. Check the grove in he bar hasn’t opened out allowing the chain to “chatter” from side to side. Or it could be as simple as Uneven sharpening?
  3. Vistaprint are good, and easy to use.
  4. Gomataro on left lower leg here, I have my lanyard tail on left also. I leave my topper on which ever side is convenient, only having a carrytool one side would do my head in. Only once in 10 years (that I remember) have I damaged a lanyard with a saw hanging on the same side, Shirley that’s what the chain brake is for.
  5. My mk1 540 ripped the whole top handle off whilst starting it stood on spikes at less that 3 weeks old and husky refused to repair it under warranty. The handle came away with the carb still in it so you could look down into he pot! Needless to say I won’t be buying another. My early 201 has been in for the ignition/flywheel mod but other than that has only had service bits in 6 years, owes me nothing and will be replaced with another when it’s time comes
  6. That sounds like a skeleton having a wank in a biscuit tin! ? if It is only doing it cold it could be worth a compression test to rule out wear in the rings/valves.
  7. assuming you have checked there is nowt jamming the flywheel stopping it turning over?
  8. Yes, we get paid to do the tree work and clear the site, with oversize wood with no value locally beams can be quicker than rings to cut and get out, the chipper loads truck, the tip button empties it and we get paid! Its not often we don’t but on some jobs it works well. Also being on a small island there is minimal market for milled timber and haulage to the mainland is to expensive to be profitable/viable
  9. I’ve only used stihl up to 48” and 50 something with sugi. I don’t knock stihl bars, I still use some. I just find (time and time again) I get a lot more life out of sugi and gb bars per £ spent compared to stihl. I don’t treat them any different to each other. I don’t mill any where as much as you but work my gear hard in forestry, climbing, Hedgelaying and a small bit of milling if I need something or find a nice stick, but more often than not i mill beams so the whole tree fits through the chipper, you can extract more timber and easier from a garden in beams over rings!
  10. Sugi and gb bars make the stihl bars look like they were made by Cadbury, they last so much longer they work out cheaper in the long run.
  11. I just beat them on the side teeth, a smack each side and they normally come out. Assuming the bolt has been removed ?
  12. Its not blue ? you feeling ok Bob? ?
  13. I was always told not to drain water from forks or old wounds as it keeps the air out and as decay needs oxygen.
  14. Midland road springs used to do upgraded springs. I’m going back 8 year or so and had no dealings with them since but we’re good quality at the time. any garage should be able to fit them.
  15. These guys sell teeth singularly so can just get what you need. Tree Stump Removal | Stump Grinding teeth WWW.STUMPTEETH.CO.UK Tree stump grinding teeth from Ammco Uk Ltd. All types of stump grinding teeth.
  16. Dibond in a light steel frame is another option for your sides, they will need a strengthening bar every m or so but 30x3mm flat bar isn’t heavy or expensive. The dibond will last years as long as you don’t launch timber at it like a nutter. Can also add vinyl signage to it, to look smart. dibond and a steel frame will cost more than ply but if used with respect will last a lot longer. If the board gets bent the frame could be reused with new board and lettering. Your sign company will be able to help with cost options, poss worth a conversation before spending out.
  17. It is a good choice tho, cracking machines with matching backup. They also hold there value second hand if you want to upgrade again in the future.
  18. Don’t discount the predator 460. It’s a hell of a machine.
  19. the customer doesn’t decide if they want to pay for machines or not they simply except the quote or if they can’t afford to pay my price they go the next contractor. the man or woman on the sharp end will decide what kit is needed and quote accordingly. give it few days then watch the Facebook £50 and the wood hero flatten the shed and not be insured. good call walking away @Bloom the best thing you can give to the competition is a bad customer.
  20. And dryad in various forms
  21. cheers for the reply Andy. It’s not ce marked for road tow however I have added lights to it and take it short distances (we can’t go far stuck on this little rock and are in the quite end of it? ) it does tow fine with proper wheel bearings and load/speed rated tyres it is just over a year old, only seen a max of 100 cube of our arb waste. I will get some pictures and video of it working etc for you tomorrow and have a think on price. will pm you once I’ve got some pictures sorted.
  22. Are you looking for a woodland mills log processor Andy? I have one that could be for sale, due to possible upgrade. I could easy make it fit a double pallet and get it on a lorry up country.
  23. As said above plus Pros Stumps are the same price but quicker and easier work so you earn that way. upgrade to a 38 from your 460 and it will get more places Heavy enough to assist the occasional fell running costs are much the same, poss use less teeth on a tracked grinder as the smaller machine notices blunt teeth sooner but only minimal difference cons you can’t run it up ramps into your tipper (assuming you’re running transit size truck) with chip and towing chipper so it makes the stump another trip or another truck and trailer on site
  24. I opened the thread thinking D6 or D8 ?
  25. Check the return line from the injectors back to the tank, especially if it goes via the injector pump if they get blocked they can cause funny symptoms on some engines, simple but often over looked
