  1. Not sure if gear pumps are a good go.
  2. Maybe a two wheel tractor could be a good choice, there are toy chippers as implements available which you could use for branches. Clippings and and general greenwaste can nicely be powdered using a flail mower implement, they're surprising capable. Probably that tractor finds more uses later on your yard. If it strightly has to be a chipper, I would choose a self propellered one like the m500. Or a hydraulic feeded like the balfor bf100. It's really affordable, even new. But big and not the easiest to drag around. Choose one: mobility or self feeding. The best of both worlds would be the rabaud 100 but they're pricey.
  3. Mick nailed it. Grinding to ground level is tricky especially shaping a flat, mower friendly surface, with no surrounding incline. In addition, no matter how well the pedestrian grinder is made, I never would want to grind 80 stumps with it, except they're 5". And btw, ash is imho one of the worst things to grind.
  4. This is my observation too.
  5. Due to the weight of the tracks it will be hard to flip it on the side. Seems like a low center of gravity. Excellent conversion imho.
  6. What to do if the ground is not level? I see bad nicks, tracked machines follow the ground so nice.
  7. Holy, that's a beefy price tag for a 30hp diesel with a torque rating like a 38hp gasser.
  8. Nobody thought of the FSI 30hp tracked machine? Seems to fit well through UKs gates @77.5cm width.
  9. I believe 60°C are easily reached on a hot summer day in bright sunlight when working. Or think of ppe just stored in a closed car. It should handle it.
  10. Dolly 7650 here. While on the paper it's approximately only 20% more velocity and speed, it feels as if it has twice the juice than my stihl km130+bg km. The nozzle and pipe are much more solid than in the stihl. As it's a pure 4 stroke, it's exceptional easy to start, runs silent, yes silent and very smooth. I feel my 4-mix literally screams and rattles compared. Sips fuel although. And no mixing or stale fuel issues. Very comfy to wear. I really love it. Mick stated it: Backpacks are a pain to load and handle. But performance wise, handhelds are a joke in comparison.

    Honda GX25

These small gx can suffer from the gasket between carb and head. Maybe it's the tank vent. Have you tried leaving the gas cap open?
  12. As far as my understanding about flail mowers goes, 5hp for 50cm is a bit weak. Look at the 2 wheel tractors, they recommend about 10hp for 65cm.
  13. I know these too and yes for the given hp, these teeth are blunt. My advice is to only sharpen from below and maybe very little on the front. Don't grind back any steel! This way you ensure, that these pointless expensive wheels can be retipped.
  14. Is it a genuine Honda, that got holed?
  15. Don't forget about the fact, that because of the higher gearing you drive more miles, but your counter still counts the same (low) amount. When switching from 195/70 R15 to 225/70r15, I actually drove 5-6% farer compared to the 195, while my counter showed the same distance. So my increased consumption in reality was 7.5% more instead of the shown/calculated 12.5%.
  16. I really don't understand how someone could work without them. Alone the increased stability on chip piles or if the stump is a little larger and you have to drive into the hole a bit, they are priceless. Vermeer's tag for them is a bad joke.
  17. Usually work wear, I excuse myself when beeing dirty, whith that I just come from a tough job. Nothing wrong with beeing busy.
  18. A friend of mine works as an Art Director for big advertising company. I asked him if it's worth having a Facebook page. Answer in short: If my potential customers hang around there and I am able to continous post interesting stuff it's fine. Otherwise a tidy Homepage is more professional and better. My main customers are solvent homeowners, if I should guess from experience, they where maybe between 40-80 years. The mass of FB users is not in that range. End.
  19. Stumpy Grinder is right. I would use my Alpine and a chainsaw on this. First clean around with the Mag, than cut as low as possible, then grind the left roots with the Alpine, should take 1-2 hours, probably less.
  20. Keep in mind, that even a knackered 252 or 1625 can easily be in need of spares in the 1k to 4k range. Even if you shop smart.
  21. Annoying yes, especially explaining the customer. For sure the belt never breaks in the gararage. How many hours had the belt on the clock?
  22. Yes, it is better. But I'm unsure how much hassle you may have if you want to fit it. I'm not only talking about the mounting, maybe there are some hydraulic changes needed too.
  23. Probably stucks like a corkscrew on a 60" stump leaving all the flare roots untouched.
