They should have learnt enough from concrete saws to be able to use it in a chainsaw. TS500i has been out a few years now.

I use a wipe of Hylomar blue or equivalent on base gasket and nothing on exhaust gaskets. Can you feel the ridges above the exhaust port with the edge of your nail ? They don't look too bad try rubbing the cylinder with some 240 and WD.

You could get a 135 for about £180, different chain and bar but similar saw. My early 135 has been good with no problems in the time I've had it, about 6 years I reckon. It has been run on Aspen for most of that time. I have an old Dynamac DY41 from Machine Mart which I resurrected with a £3 eBay carb kit after I thought it was done for which was why I bought the 135.

Never had it with a saw, the coil either works or it doesn't but I did have the same problem with a 2 stroke scooter which was also fixed with a cheap eBay coil. It would actually tick over for hours and rev for about 20 seconds which made it look like a fuel problem.

Have you flicked the choke lever back down to fast idle and not touched the trigger ? My 135 does that till it is properly warmed up. L screw is about 2.5 turns out for a starting point till it is warmed up and you can fine tune.

Get a set of attachments from Aldi when they have their electric ones in again. The abrasive drum sander attachments with rough abrasive are as good as you will get for removing rust. Some on ebay worth trying

I had 170 with the bullet connector popping out of the holder on the choke linkage. I used a small tiewrap to hold it and it stays in now, been OK for a couple of years.

We seem to get Hart's tongue fern growing out of every opportune cavity round here, it adds a bit of green.

My splitter has a removable cross knife and it gets removed a lot. That does look high for the pusher plate to be effective. The cross knife blades don't need to be as long either. I'm modifying mine when I get my angle grinder back.

Some RAL2004 paint on ebay for about £10 with post.

I can buy paint from the local motor factor mixed to match and then put into the aerosol for £15.

My MS460 with new piston and cylinder needs the decomp valve or it kicks back at me but my old 044 with no decomp is an easy pull and starts with no fuss. I've tried the Ms460 without it but I just seem to miss the cough then flood it.

No washer on any of mine so it's not going to be your cure. The casket under the casing seals it.
