  6. Like big j says you're far better off with an experienced and knowledgable operator. I get a pro in (you call that big) and help him =highly productive and cost effective. Also good friend has bought mill and I'm watching him on a steep learning curve, he's fine but was painfully slow in the early days!
  7. Hi Matt, this is how mine was done when I got it, pretty sturdy and doesn't leak. Incidentally did you find someone to do wind blown course with?

I'm 47 and only changed from prussiks about 18 months ago to lockjack (and spam tin on long ascents), thought about using a couple today as a reminder, after readin this thread this morning, but my wrists just started to quiver! Would like to have a go at SRT etc soon, anything that makes climbing easier and means You can do it for longer can't be bad😀

  12. Friend had 05 van one til a couple of years ago no op licence needed was fast furious but fursty. He did have problems with front hubs but always suspected it may have had front end smash at some point. Apart from that a good work horse😀

  14. I like it! Good day went to finish 3day job in spite of rain forecast all day, held off til 2 then tipped it down while I was stripping an ash (eel climbing!) but all cleared by 4 (11m3 of chip and large stack of rings) n customer paid cash, so soaked but happy home for tea bath beer bonk😀😀good mid week result!
  15. Very interesting apart from the complete bellend presenting it!

  19. A few of my customers have burley stoves, they are all long standing log customers who've replaced an older fire I reckon they all use at least a third less wood each winter! Really efficient😀
  20. Have you tried it with lump wood charcoal? Interested to know how long that lasts
  21. Luckily, I've never done a big painful swing but last week slipped when comin back in off a limb and before I knew it I was upside down spinning about and disorientated, fortunately colleague on ground was dragging brash away and didn't see (relentless piss taker) and pride was saved😀
  22. Was told years ago about an old forester and his two sons who all worked together, the old man went to his knees while driving steel wedges into felling cut on big oak, sons thought he'd knelt to have a look but when he didn't move for a couple of minutes they found he was propped on shaft of sledgehammer and later autopsy found a shard of steel had penetrated his heart!
  23. This appears to be the case with most boots! My first pair of Andrew boots were awesome lasted nearly two years, I've had em resoled n they're going again but bought second pair while others were being repaired and they're looking tired after 6 months.😟
  24. No, birch bark is a like a sealed plastic bag, locking moisture in (which is why birch bark canoes are so water resistant) so if your turning into billets your splitting the bag open, so no need to blaze. 😀
  25. What I always find staggering in this sort off case is that the thieving little **** bags go to the cops after!
