  1. Is poplar no longer unpopular with the populace?
  2. You never mentioned supper or late night cereal bowl (lightweight!😀)
  3. Trailer not done yet 😢, no not the little screw, tried that, engineer said prob one half of spool buggered and owner dint want to spend more money at the time (talk about spoiling the ship for ha'porth of tar!) so I am goin to try and find second hand one, persuaded them not to remove steering altogether.
  4. I raised the legs while looking forward after finishing loading and when I looked over my shoulder the trailer was nearly on deck! 390 does have two pairs of valves but when we got the trailer I had problem getting flow/return in correct combination and the only one that allowed crane to function would not allow draw bar to work ( it would push ram out but not return ), I did have experienced agri engineer present by the way! if you could shed light on this I may be able to stop engineer taking ram off. I'll post pics of repairs. Cheers John
  5. I am due a trip to friends nr Bawdeswell soon, got ur number!
  6. You have my heartfelt sympathies as both my cousin and a close friend have had the op in the last 3 months, couldn't help but notice your handle is slightly ironic! Get well soon
  7. Yes please, have plenty of other timber already, just have a hankering to make a holmgaard style bow in its original medium!
  8. Thanks for that, on the original picture you can see concentric rings. I presume the branch that 'spawned' it would've been of a much smaller diameter, incidentally is it same/similar fungi that cause the growths that look like fresh water oyster shells on ash?
  9. Just behind the head board, yup steering drawbar support. We're doing away with that as the 390 doesn't have enough slices on it and the owner reckoned it's too dear to do (personally I think it would of saved a lot of tree toes from being skinned over the years). Although it's a great forwarding trailer and shifted 1800 odd t a year for the past10 years, it's not of the same build quality as its predecessor (same model but no hydraulic legs) which was stronger up front and better bolsters. I noticed at apf they had beefier bolsters on a smaller trailer. Should be sorted by tomorrow night though😀
  10. Oh dear chassis snapped on the mowi 300
  11. Anything over 60" long would be good and 6"/10" diameter reasonably straight as its for flat bows👍🏻🙏🏻
  12. If you have a bit about 70" long that's fairly knot free I'd be interested in it
  13. Does occasionally split easily and can grow quite quick, and by the look of those rings it did! What DBH is it?
  14. Quite often don't have difflock on those 4x4 options, was my only gripe with the county transit and mk 2 Newton abbot conversion I had, though they were very capable otherwise😀
  15. You tried splitting any yet?
  16. Actually on second thoughts and closer look at bark elm?
  17. Those rings indicate softwood imo, larch?
  18. Can one of you brainiacs shed some light on what caused this on sweet chestnut? There were 3 or 4 with similar growths on them alL within 4' of the ground. The DBH on this one was about 750mm but not the biggest. Also couple of pics of interesting beech and cherry. All within the park at Holkham, Norfolk. Apologies for quality as couldn't work out how to upload onto here from laptop! John
  19. Near Norwich, so prob a bit far, but if anyone local interested just pm
  20. +1 as I've had loads of problems with mine now 2.5 yrs old, but I still like em for some freakish reason😀

According to the RFS article it is not uncommon for blood test to come back negative in early weeks so identifying the rash is vital although 1 in 3 don't see a rash. It's also worth noting its not always a bullseye
  24. You have to prove functional need and viability by obtaining 3 yrs temporary planning in which time you need to show an agricultural wage for at least one of the years. As with most things in planning law a lot depends on the lpa s interpretation of the guidelines. Chapter 7 ( set up bySimon Fairleigh) are a good source of help and information. I know of a couple of developments where they have got planning with relatively small piece of woodland which is used as base for charcoal production and feedstock coming from elsewhere
