  2. Have found those type of tarps are not waterproof for long, curtain sides are good but quite heavy and seem to be harder to get hold of, I bought a couple of 40'x 10' advertising ones about 3 years ago for £40 each and they're great, lighter n more flexible than the curtain sides
  3. A very pleasant distraction!😛
  4. Meant to say if you're stuck for saws for a few days I could lend a couple as you're only a few miles from me and I have spares! John
  5. Really sorry to hear about that Philip, but you can't give up because of some horrible little lowlife.

  11. I like that Ian, looks like an ancient monolith. I just used a friend workshop to make this cupboard top from a short cherry stem, not sure what to coat it with though

  13. No £250 between us
  14. Do you always speak to your phone Jon: suddenly it all makes sense😀😀😀 On topic though I share a yard with a couple of colleagues, it's about an acre of meadow with an assortment of cart lodges etc, no concrete sadly, but £250 a month all 'above board'

  18. You can apply for 3 yrs temp planning in order to prove the financial viability of your business plan (which you must supply to council) and you need functional need to be there in first place. PPG 7 states you need to make and agricultural wage in at least 1 of the 3 yrs but like most things in planning this may well depend on your LPAs own interpretation of planning law. We had a ******* nightmare with them! If I wasn't a pig trottered typist I would write a whole lot more informative stuffbut I'm too slow n need to get to work! PS Ben Law IS a hippy and also a bit of a design genius
  19. Thanks for that, we used to get all 3 paints a few years ago and would put all coats on our lorries chassis my mate saw his daf that he did in 1998 the other week and that green topcoat with bits of metal in hadn't budged! Nice paint job essential, should prob put up before n after when we do mine.
  20. I have permanent residency for forestry worker and family but not gonna build anytime soon, it took 12 years and nearly cost my missus her sanity! There are several people throughout UK who've managed it, Ithere is a new book called '30 years in wilderness wood' about a forester and family. From memory Ben Law's cost 3k over budget of about 26k and that was cos he hadn't realised the cost of double glazing.
