  1. My wife has 15 yrs horticulture experience + and specialist nursery work and in depth knowledge of what she does, and has just completed a 5 yr degree. Around these parts its £20ph for gardening work etc. for a non skilled mum charging the same seems a bit way off if you ask me. I wouldn't expect to pay over £10ph
  2. +2 bought one to tune the 090 & 070
  3. What purpose are those "bow" bars then?
  4. Personally, work bench materials I wouldn't bother milling timber in. As noted above nothing some £7 fence posts wouldn't cure and some decking boards
  5. Paul? I know he got burnt on a chipper in Scotland with a similar scam
  6. what size saw. go big or go home :-)
  7. Yes indeed. I did edit my post, but link not there for some reason!
  8. The spalted holly I have is fantastic, amazing colour and stable. The only split was from the centre board. I did post pictures a few years back will see if I can find them
  9. 1 M3 of green Oak weighs around 900kg
  10. I am guessing it will be the newer 47" solid nose that I have, and does not have the older design symbol etched in. Handling a 60" is a bit different to a smaller one, if that's all you are used to using. What is your intended purpose for the saw? Milling I presume of course, I would suggest using a smaller saw first, if your experience is limited with milling with saws?
  11. I mill on a solid, because its what I got. Though in time will replace with a sprocket. Helper handles are still available. 1\2" chain is only good for a boat anchor these days, change sprocket (spur?) To .404 and be good to go. As I did, change carb kit and fuel lines, mine now runs on aspen My saw in use
  12. My saw was a non runner, all I changed was carb set. Regardless of which way you do things, buy it anyway.
  13. I've seen the state of your reductions before, now I no why. They where all Pollard's!
  14. In twenty years never had a problem. As stated before, there would be a lot of buggered saws if that was a major fault of running out of fuel. As they say, use it like you stole it!!
  15. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=722089194591386&id=189537827846528&_rdr
  16. Our local sawmill used to sell them as cords as above, 4 yrs ago for £15 a go. Now you won't get them for less than £45. Easy money
  17. Have a block of SC suitable for rails post etc. Land lord wants to know what the going rate is standing timber? Needing to get a few prices for him, thx
  18. I would like a few extra supports in that to stop it flexing or twisting. How true is it?
  19. I use .404 on the 090/070, 3\8 on the 056 & 064
  20. Ummm. Record, as in vice manufacturer, not record as in music vinyl. Polystyrene must of come leaps and bounds if they make vice from it
  21. About 15 mins from me then
  22. What's wrong with a good old record!!
  23. Apart from loosing a bit of time, why not have ago?
