  3. I recall that there are no aftermarket options available, pots or pistons and are no longer supported by stihl, that's why never buy a 084. Hopefully you didn't!!
  4. Variation is key. And when your self employed you will learn to take any jobs which can earn you money. Climbing day in and out will wear you thin physically and knacker your body.

  11. If I have a lot of logging to do, will put my 16" bar on then chips fly quite well!
  12. What happens to the 2 1\2 times guide bar rule? Surely a GB 64" bar would do the job with bit of buttressing?
  13. Love my 064. Always fitted with 36" bar and I will happily ring down oak or ash hanging from my harness and full bar too.. Will be a sad day when she goes!

  15. 400+ wet n dry is what I used on a varnished Yew seat.it will dull whatever. As suggested a wiping varnish to finish
  16. Yes it can be. Looks like maybe spalted possibly, but general term I believe is "flamed" ash and noted by the pattern internally found when milled
  17. Looking at the bark fissures, just a hint of yellow on inner edge suggests Ash to me as does the growth rings being to open for Oak.
  18. Hi Joe, Don't suppose you got a chain adjusting screw and nipple? Thanks Simon
  19. I am at home, week off. Lot of country pursuits to enjoy and training before competitions end of Nov and early Dec
  20. I hired one off a friend. Until some local known scrote nicked it bout 6 yrs ago.
  21. have some biggish yew boards, waney edge and cherry too. barn dried for couple of years now. not sure of dimensions. let me know if interested will measure up.
  22. Dust extracted? We use cattle grade shavings in our kennels, even still a fair amount of dust is produced when broken under foot. Therefore carefully think of its intended use as lung issues could arise as saw dust is even finer still
  23. I used to run my caterham seven supersport on 97 octane and there was a significant difference in performance. On longer journeys I would use half 95 half 97 and the same performance was noted. It worked out cheaper too! However on track days I would only run 97, just to be sure I was getting optimal performance. Can't afford to run expensive stuff in saws though!!!!
  24. That's got me thinking rob. 090 & 070 combo. Ideal!!!
