  1. 064, 066, 070, 088 or 090 That would b my tinkin! Or someone with a bigger saw you could hire, perhaps wiyh bloke may be cheaper than a new saw?
  2. I think the newer model does not need the bar attachment. Though bout gettin one a while back. Got lots of windblown chestnut to deal wih, the thought of a tirfor makes my arm hurt! But so does tbe cost to the wallett!!! Decisionz!
  3. A misconception, especially if you have a nut allergey
  4. 070. can you get those bearings over here? (non plastic)
  5. nice!! looks like those logs will fall apart if you where to cut a 3.5" slice off?
  6. thats good to know, as both my 090 and 070 have this configuration. my father managed to fix teh starter problem i had by making a shim insert for where it had stripped in the housing, so we all good for the time being. whilst on this 070 thread, you don't have a conversion kit from spur to rim available, if not i will try and get one but would be interested in one of the bearings that came with the 090 ones if you have any? thx s
  7. who`s a good looking boy then
  8. my chair, which i haven't posted a picture of, is made from bone oak with a Yew seat and back. i used 3" carpenters mates screws then made plugs and glued them in!
  9. Ive loads of English cherry boards, perhaps i need to be making a table with them rather them stacked in the barn! gr8 looking table too! simon
  10. one of these? Startertopf mit Ring für Stihl 070 090 090G Contra | eBay
  11. as its new, that may be why because its over sharp. i had that same effect when i started with a new chain and wasn't applying a steady constant force. i would try on wood that's of not much importance and get a feel for what is needed. i am not far away, if you need any help or have any timber that's a tad big!!
  12. does look a tad rough indeed! agree with Alex on the chain front bit, also wondering if the chain is new and seen little action and therefore too aggressive? also, i may of missed somewhere but is this a milling chain or standard cross cut? i have found that the older the chain i seem to get a better finish and on a 42" Oak ive just done the boards are very smooth indeed with a chain that has seem some action on the 090
  13. I ve just been using the 090 last few days millingva large oak that blew down in our garden, a few pix to follow, but here is my saw in action last year.
  14. **** happenz
  15. How can that be deduced from the op's post
  16. love my 056 super, tad heavy mind but with a 36" bar aboard, she cuts real sweeet!
  17. Ive just moved that yew to a new drier location. I tell ya what though the colouration is stunning!!!!
  18. ummm, would pay to watch someone milling that with an 026
  19. And from personal experience with 2" ×12ft boards they are tad heavy and takes 3 good men to lift and move! And take 1 tank of fuel, oil and 10mins percut. Good luck and i hope or presume you have a stihl 070 or 090!!!!
  20. My 064 is my best saw for power weight ratio and a gr8 climbing saw with the 36" bar on board. Id say keep it.
  21. Poser Take it that aint stock then
  22. Phfff. All this talk of porting and better performance and a great noise, i would suggest gettin one of these instead This was the saws first day out aftet rebuild.
  23. when did Dave sell this? thought he still had it, but expect he is making use of the 130 more!
  24. Shake free chestnut. Does that even exist!!!!
