  2. Burn it
  3. OK thanks. Shame bout p2g. They seemed a good price with TNT at 13.78 Jon, that may be an option, I'll ask Ian. Thanks all
  4. You can speed it up considerably by boiling, about a month. I've done burr oak and cherry bowls Boiling Green Wood to Reduce Drying Defects In Bowls and Platters
  5. Last night I tried to send Ian a plank of yew. Myhermes turned up in a metro car which obviously isn't going to get an 84" bit of wood in. I asked about a van collection but was declined due to excessive dimensions. I've looked at parcel force but they want £38, ipostparcels won't take it either. Who or how do you send timber? Thanks
  6. Since when can you not use an extension ladder:confused1: I've got the longest triple extension ladder you can get and its great for small oak reductions
  7.

  9. Ian, managed to get a board out.
  10. The tree blew over from honey fungus I think October time last year. Moved with telehandler and propped as seen, so off ground since then. All, or majority of planks for sale, dimensions as noted in first post. 900 wide is a good dining room table size! Simon
  11. No Jon Bought from the big E. Wanted a brace 070av & 090av!
  12. Few extra images
  13. Got a few more, not on my laptop yet.
  14. Didn't you need planning?
  15. A good set of young muscles Jon:wink:
  16. Had this bad boy lined for couple of months now, but had time this week to get it done. Some stunning boards too! 2500*900*50= bloody heavy!!! First day milling with the 070av:biggrin: It was also around 170 yrs old. 29 growth rings per 10cm!!!!
  17. Burr Oak, yeh i`d go with that :-) cost wise n idea but iv egot two to do as well what size lenght and width? Taper?
  18. If you search thru my post for fugly Yew, should be some pictures of my offering. Sussex based 2" thick up to 28" wide air dried barn stored 2yrs I wud think.
  19. Whilst working on some chestnut coppice today, and the home of my large burr oak I posted some time ago now my new colleague was not aware of burr oak. After showing him my 4.5ft monster and another pippy oak in the woods I googled it to show him what beauty lies within. Upon searching I came across this gentlemens website and have just browsed his gallery. The work some of you post is amazing too as is this: Roger Michael Fine Furniture If only I had the skills, I've got the wood!!
  20. What carb adjustment?
  21. Some stunning colouration and figure on that last image! Anymore shots?
  22. Beautiful wood, though the legs for me don't do it!!
  23. Far too much money, for likes of little old me anyway. Thinkin of getting a nice series 3 for doggin purposes
  24. There was a post a while back with a big beech milled. As you will see from the pictures and comments big beech is notorious for internal rot, cavities, shake and other problems. Until its on the ground you won't know. I've got one to do soon, possibly this week which is spalted! But the butt is very straight for 8ft about 40" too I think
