Someone is about to have a bad day! Chances are they will think they have bought a bargain as no doubt it will cut timber, just not very well. Hadn't had plenty of problems with these fake machines as people order say a 28" chain for a 395 then have a rant at us that we have sent the wrong chain out! The problem it creates for us outs that a lot of these fake garbage machines run a .325 chain instead of the 3/8 it should be.

No problem, just thought you might be using some of the cheaper types where you can just pull the rubber off the gloves. Will be interested to hear of any really good positive feedback on leather gloves for tree climbing work.

Quite possibly as they were all domestic oldies who wanted a 'handy' little saw for cutting up firewood.

£5 a pair should get you something decent, the ones I mentioned are just under £4. I will post links to them below but it is worth asking in your local dealers to see if they do or can stock them. I never liked wearing gloves when climbing but the towas were the best for me. If they got caught in a prussik or zigzag they didnt rip to bits like a lot of the rubber coated gloves you can get. Never really bothered with leather as I didnt like the lack of feeling you end up with. Towa activ grip pfanner fine grip

Time will tell but the extra weight doesnt fell that much in the hand even though as butters mentions it is bigger than the echo. Lots of people are put off from buying the echo due to the looks, the brand and that it is quite delicate, so if the husky performs as well and is more robust which it looks and feels like then it will do well. If we were still doing the tree work I (well more than likely Barry) would of given one a try out but they cost too much to send one out as a demo machine unfortunately. Have only sold a few online so no feedback from those customers yet but plenty of shop customers are interested in buying once work picks up a bit.

Dont try and compress the spring anymore. Just replace the grey plastic cover and screws, place it on the saw (easier if you get rid of the bar and chain) and move the chain brake handle back and forth a bit while pushing on the sprocket cover in the area the handle locates into it. Once it slots in keep pushing on the sprocket cover and pull the chain brake handle to disengage the chain brake.

Which brand of gloves are you using? The towa activgrip are a very good rubber palmed glove along with the pfanner fine flex.

It's worth noting that the chain usually shipped with the echo is a 91px which is smoother cutting due to the extra safety ramps compared to the 91vxl. So if you have also taken the depth gauge down a bit on the vxl it will account for the increased judder and jamming. Because it is more aggressive we sell a lot more of the vxl.

Sorry for the delay but we have a better picture now. Also a mistake on the chain size it is the 1/4" H00 but it is 1.3mm gauge and not 1.1mm

Just wondering if there is any feedback from users of the new T525? There is a bit of info about the specs on our web site, link here Husqvarna T525 but some hands on use would be good. All I can say is it is heavier by 350g ish than the Echo Cs2511TES, same power on paper but feels more robust. The bar is more of a carving bar with a narrower tip than in the picture and the chain is a 1/4" 1.1mm H00 chain. It isnt the same size chain as the Stihl MS150.

I asked the marlow rep about splicing it when we first started stocking the rope. He quickly said don't bother. Apparently the aeris is also a difficult one to splice, not sure about the newer venom or vega ropes though.

Could be worth trying self amalgamating tape as it's quite thin and sticky. A bit on the shank and the arbpro device might help the grip. That or some panel bonding adhesive, one used for carbon fibre rather than go down the drilling and bolt as it might start to weaken the carbon fibre with the device banging against the bolt. Ie elongate the bolt hole.

The construction of gecko has been changed as apparently it was a nightmare to splice, as you have discovered.! The latest rope, gecko 2 is supposedly easier to splice. Not much help I know but if you get stuck give marlow ropes a shout, they are very helpful and will no doubt point you in the right direction as it is all spliced in house by hand.

Cheers lads. Not much chance of catching them now. Due to an issue I won't go into they were extremely lucky, any other time they would have been caught. Fortunately they took hardly anything due to the security measures in place.

Just a quick update as we have had a few questions about the chain I thought it best to add the info herr. No change in file size, use a 3/16" equivalent to 4.8mm No need to change the rim sprocket although its a good time to check wear on that item as a worn drive sprocket/rim will sap power and damage new chains. Not available in full chisel and it looks like it isnt going to be. Will be available in 3/8" full chisel in spring next year. Must add, still to hear a bad word about the new setup it's been 100% positive so far. -

There isn't anything good about sorting warranties and other issues out I can tell you than for nothing! Their are some benefits to it but I can see there being a few problems with this scheme as well but time will tell,. We have had to sign up to it but I havent read all the small print yet. Lots of changes going on at Husqvarna for the new year.

Had the same not long ago on a newish 550xp. Split air filter causing a worn piston and ring on that intake side. All it needed was a new piston kit, some gaskets, and a new filter. Back too new.

Can you post some pictures up of the chain, both sides and the bar, including the specifications stamped on the bar? At least we can then determine if it is the correct match. There is no way of saying this without sounding patronising but are you sure the chain is in good shape ie it isn't blunt on one side? Most of the time it is the chain rather than the bar that is at fault. A bent bar usually just jams up in the cut.

Apart from a few Stihl calendars we dont get any from our suppliers. We usually send out some Skyland ones around about now, but just a small pocket sized diary, no pictures of anything, never mind anything interesting.
