  1. If I tried repairing with a heli-coil and it was not successful, would I then be able to attempt a time-sert repair or would there be too much damage. Sorry if the answer is obvious but I'm not familiar with these repairs. What I really don't want to do is knacker what I already have.
  2. Its a good show mate, are you going? Apologies for derail.
  3. Nor I Paul, the Newcastle BA gave Stourhead a nice glow! Hope to catch up with you Saturday mate.
  4. Currently really enjoying Thatchers Gold but if you want to get your blood flowing then Thatchers Katy does a good job. As for still/scrumpy then Julian Temperley's Burrow Hill cider is very good. Get up the Dorset Steam Fair for some good srumpy, a lot of the best cider makers get there to sell their wares.
  5. You can't always get by them with such ease Stephen because the outside lane is full of other drivers also trying to get by.
  6. If you're going to WA, check out 'The Gloucester Tree', pretty awesome and you can climb to the top of it on these pegs they've banged into it. You do need a head for heights though!!
  7. Liked the look of chipper with chip box.
  8. You want to get that second pair of hands fetching that winch agg
  9. Ah, that's handy. Thanks all for your replies.
  10. Has anyone else had experience with 'Time Sert'? Handy that you do not need to remove the head, save a lot of money on labour.
  11. Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm not very mechanically minded, is the helicoil a simple operation? I'm not thinking of doing it myself, but was thinking of getting the guy who usually repairs my saws to do it, or would you think I am better getting someone with experience with helicoils to do it? I wouldn't be so worried/bothered if it was a 357 or similar, but an 088 is something you hope to be a one or 2 in a life time purchase. I wasn't going to arb show Jon, though I see the protos helmet is being released there which has given me food for thought. I take it you are going? Are you staying over night or coming back same day Jon?
  12. Nice work there Scotspine, they were some fair size lumps. Good lowering letting it run. What was the saw, was it a jonsered?
  13. I've always just rocked up, but you could give them a call to be on safe side. I don't know number, just google it. If you have probs there, out the other side of town is a large agriculture college 'Kingston Maurwood', they maybe able to help you.
  14. Different country, different rules.
  15. Whilst a mate was using my 088, it made a poof sound and he discovered the thread that the spark plug goes into is worn and unworkable. The saw is probably 10 years or so old, though has not had a great deal of use, probably comes out about 3 or 4 times a year. Does anybody have any ideas of how I could repair this without replacing the part as its a very expensive part to replace. Thanks in advance, Marc
  16. Gonna be a right pita for guys in the Scottish highlands or outer Hebrides!!
  17. I think you've been sold up the river my friend. I'm sure that there are very very few people who actually have any idea of when it could be released.
  18. Head North out of Dorchester on the Sherborne top road, through Lower Burton (past the Sun Inn) and Charminster, then on your right is 'Wolfedale Golf Course' and they will take woodchip. It sounds far but its not, about 5 mins.
  19. A friend of mine layed the upstairs floor in old scaffold planks and like you say, once sanded and treated, come up very nice.
  20. Sorry, I've written that back to front or you've understood it back to front WPD do NOT allow you to use wire core flip lines on live cutting.
  21. WPD do not allow you to use them on live line cutting. I only ever used mine on large sections (chogging), cos they flick so much easier. I cannot find mine now though
  22. Well Mat, it is clearly a trail way and could be argued not ideally suited to road bikes with skinny tyres. You can't please all the people all of the time Mat. Good work mate.
  23. I've never seen an rs200, did they only ever sell them in Essex?
  24. The ms200 with the back handle (cant remember model), is a very good carving saw.
